His pupils dilate at my words, and he stares at my mouth for several seconds before leaning down next to my ear and whispering, “The staff is still here. You think I would allow anyone else to gaze upon your magnificent body? You are mine, Samantha.” He reaches between my legs, beneath the hem of my dress, and strokes along the seam of my panty-covered pussy. “This ismine.”

My feminism leaves my body entirely upon hearing the possessive edge in Mylo’s voice as he claims ownership over my pussy. He can have it, plant a flag on it, set up an entire society, and even open McDonald’s on it if he wants, as long as he keeps talking to me like that.

“Say it,” he growls.

His tongue flicks across the pulse point on my neck, sending shivers down my spine. “Yours,” I moan. “My pussy is yours.”

He reaches for his wine glass and feeds me a sip, his eyes heavy-lidded as they remain locked on me.

We sit like this for a while, me in his lap as we take turns drinking wine from his glass. Eventually, he asks what time it is in New Hampshire.

I quickly do the math in my head. “It’s getting late. Think Charlie’s still up?”

“Yeah, I think so.”

He puts the phone on speaker to make the call. She answers right away. “Hey, boss. How’s the honeymoon?”

“Hi, Charlie,” I shout.

“Ay, what up, girl?” she replies cheerfully.

“Charlie, how are you?” he asks. “How is the library?”

“Smooth sailing over here,” Charlie says. “Uma’s free next month, by the way. I spoke with her this morning.”

“Wonderful,” Mylo says, his smile reaching his eyes at the news. “How are preparations for theTwilighttrivia night going?”

I say nothing, but inside I’m screaming.Twilightwas my entire life when the movies came out, and I went on to listen to the audiobooks over and over, never tiring of them. It’s somewhat of a secret obsession of mine.

Mylo must be able to tell because he gives me a strange look but continues with his conversation.

“Edward and Bella costumes have been ordered, and I think I’ve talked the owner of Tasty Tortellini into providing free breadsticks, salad, and pizza for the event.”

“I thought they were only willing to give us pizza?” Mylo asks.

“Yeah, well, ya girl sweet-talked them into more freebies.”

“Bravo,” I say, genuinely clapping. Charlie works so hard. I know it’s been nice for Mylo to finally have someone to lean on. “So who are you dressing up as, Charlie?”

“Mmm, I’m not much of aTwilightfan,” she admits, and I can hear her grimace through the phone. “I’ll probably dress up as Alice or something. Then I can hop around and be socially awkward and it won’t seem weird.”

Aw, now I kinda wish I chose Alice. But being the Bella to Mylo’s Edward will also be fun. “Genius.”

“Okay, I need to go to bed, and y’all need to get back to your honeymoon.”

We say our goodbyes and are about to hang up when Charlie stops us. “I just noticed Zev signed up for my beginner guitar class, by the way.”

Mylo and I wear matching furrowed brows. Why would Zev need to take a guitar class when he has the ability to communicate with machines and other inanimate metal objects? It took him what? Three days to master the violin?

“I’m looking forward to getting to know him better,” Charlie says. “Anyway, have fun!”

She hangs up, and Mylo and I continue to look at each other, puzzled and intrigued.

“What is Zev up to?” I ask with an amused chuckle.

Mylo shakes his head. “I think he may have found his mate.”
