My feet follow in Ford’s footsteps while I scan the street for any hiding paparazzi, thoroughly expecting them to jump out at a moment's notice.

When I reach the secret door, I easily find a latch that allows me to slip through and into a dark alley beyond.

Despite reservations, I move farther into the alley, which becomes darker the farther I go. I’m legitimately about to shit my pants, thoroughly regretting my decision to leave my cell in the car to follow my erstwhile bodyguard, when a spotlight illuminates the blackness, almost blinding me.

“Who’re you?”

A deep voice makes me jump, and I blink rapidly, trying to dispel the dots that dance in my vision.

“Are you the last lot for the auction?”

A tall, tanned, and very clearly ripped man comes into view with a thatch of jet-black hair and a full beard that hides most of his features. His eyes are shockingly blue and staring right at me, clearly expecting an answer.

Shit!

“Um,yeah?”

My affirmative comes out as a question, but he doesn’t take any notice, instead propelling me through the door and into a bustling room filled with half-naked men and women of all shapes, sizes, and ethnicities.

The room is huge, but I don’t get more than a fleeting glance as my companion—who bears a startling resemblance to the actor who plays Rip in Yellowstone—steers me through the crowd and into a dimly lit corridor beyond.

“We’ll have to go in the back way. The guests have already started to arrive.”

My stomach lurches as I stumble after him, trying to keep up, terrified of being left in this strange place that I’dassumedwas the nightclub Ford had mentioned.

Up ahead, I spot a pink neon sign that readsRavish, but before we reach it, the Rip-wannabe hangs a right, bringing me into a changing room of sorts.

Lingerie, heels, and wigs of all colors adorn the wall running opposite the door, and he gestures sharply. “Get changed. I’ll tell Vaughn you’re here…”

Oh my God! ThisisVaughn’s club.

He trails off pointedly, clearly waiting for my name.

“Umm, it’s Reyna.”

“Lucia will come to get you when it’s your turn.” He narrows his eyes suddenly, as though something has just occurred to him. “This your first time at Rogue?”

I swallow roughly, managing a singular sharp nod before choking out a question. “C-can I speak to Vaughn?”

He chuckles softly. “Lucia runs this side of things, though Vaughn does visit upon occasion. You may see him when you walk onto the stage – perhaps he’ll break his rule and bid for you himself!”

“Bid for me?” I glance around the room, and realization dawns with a bang. “Oh my God.Oh my God!”

“You’ll be fine; you’ve signed the paperwork. It’s all consensual. Remember that.” He grasps my upper arm gently, his blue eyes softening. “You can say no at any time. Lucia’s a hard-ass, but Mr. Burton would never make you do something you’re not wholly comfortable with.”

With that, he exits the room, leaving me in a mess entirely of my own making.

ALEX

Having set Rey up for a day of studio shopping, I’d quickly gotten the ball in motion for the Grayson intervention that was sorely needed.

Having convinced him to meet me there later, I drove myself across town, took care of some business with Ford, and strode into Vaughn’s office in Rogue after a quick dinner, ready to pull together to help my hurting friend.

I’m confused when I find Vaughn in deep conversation on his cell behind his desk.

“Can’t you put him in WITSEC or something?”
