I know. I can’t believe it either. I told him some things last night and would’ve messaged you about that, but I fell asleep while we were talking early this morning and then my aunts showed up a few days earlier than I expected! Theo came over around dinnertime and I kind of let them assume that we’re…together.
Marlow
And he let you do that?
Yes. I was just trying to figure out a way to get in the barn to sleep…like if they thought I was with Theo, they wouldn’t find out I was sleeping out there…but he said I needed to sleep in a real bed.
Marlow
I’m freaking out right now, Sof. It’s happening! I can feel it.
I pause, wanting to be as sure as she is but knowing Theo and I still have a long way to go.
I think we can be friends again. He says he wants to be.
Marlow

I am when I’m excited about you reuniting with Theo!!!!!
I send back a crying-laughing emoji but then can’t help but ask again. It hasn’t escaped me that she didn’t answer.
But you’re okay?
It’s quiet for a moment and then she texts back.
Marlow
I am fine. Don’t you dare worry about me. This is what we’ve been hoping for all this time, Sof. Don’t let anything stand in your way now, okay?
Okay. But I’m here for you too. You better tell me if anything is going on.
Marlow
