“I think I can wait a little bit longer.”

He lifts my dress up and I have his fly open as he wraps my legs around his waist, both of us exhaling in relief as he buries himself inside me.

“Touch yourself,” he says as he lifts me up and down, his cock pistoning deeper each time he tugs me down.

I put my fingers between us, and he hisses when he feels my fingers move against my clit.

He curses, his eyes glazed as he moves me faster and faster. My head falls back, and I start clenching around him.

“That’s it, Sof. God, you’re so good. I’ve been wanting to do this all day. I want to stay buried this deep inside you.” His movements get urgent, more erratic, and I start to see stars.

He curses again and we both cry out when our bodies squeeze and pulse with our free fall.

He lifts my fingers to his mouth and licks them clean, and my core squeezes him again, causing him to jerk inside of me.

“I love you,” he whispers.

“Forever,” I tell him.

His eyes are fierce when he pushes my hair back, his eyes on mine as he kisses me hard. Sometimes I think he doesn’t believe that I mean it when I say forever, but I’ll spend the rest of my life proving that I do.

It’s dinnertime when we get to Sunny Side and the place is hopping.

When we walk inside holding hands, and everyone—mostly all locals this time of year—sees us, you’d think we were walking into a party just for us. The place erupts in a cheer, whistles and handclaps and yelling the likes of which I’veneverheard in Sunny Side.

Jo can’t stop beaming as she motions for us to take the empty table near one of the windows.

“It’s about time,” she yells.

Her husband Mark sticks his head out and whistles.

“I’ll be damned,” he yells. “Shakes on the house.”

That sets off another chorus of cheers.

A dark-haired girl comes over and stares at me. “You probably don’t remember me, but I used to go horseback riding at your place.”

“Claudia?” I ask, it hitting me all of a sudden.

She was all gangly arms and legs when I saw her last. Now she’s tall and pretty, still a bit of defiance in her expression. I imagine her as an eleven-year-old with her teeth clenching her lower lip as she learned to ride.

She smirks and lifts one eyebrow at Theo before her eyes flit to our joined hands. I can tell she’s just as ballsy as she was as a kid.

“So, it’s true then?” she asks.

Theo grins. “Is what true?”

She rolls her eyes, but she’s smiling. “I bet Jo’s going to claim no one won the bet since you spoiled the surprise by coming in.”

I look at Theo and he shakes his head.

“The bets have gotten out of hand over the past few years.” He raises his voice. “Not everything is a game.”

A few people laugh, and as Claudia walks away with our order, Theo leans across the table, getting as close as he can, and whispers, “How much do you wanna bet my family members will be arriving any minute now?”

“I thought not everything is a game?”
