As I opened the door to walk out, I tripped and knocked into Drew and had to grab the towel around my waist to keep it from falling.

“Oh shit, sorry,” he said, straightening from picking up his bag. “I was just…” His words trailed off as his gaze traveled down my body, and I felt the heat from every inch they scoured.

It felt too familiar, and panic seized my chest.

No. Not again.

I cleared my throat and moved to the side. “The, uh, shower’s yours.”

Drew looked up at me, eyes blazing with an intensity that made my cock jerk behind the towel. Then he blinked, whatever it was passed, and he walked past me into the bathroom and shut the door.

When the lock clicked, I realized I’d been holding my breath.

What was it about Drew Edwards that made me so fucking crazy?

DREW

WELL. THAT HAD been unexpected.

I couldn’t decide if the sight of Hudson practically naked had been welcome or not, though my dick seemed to have a strong opinion about that. Hudsonwithhis clothes on was potent enough, but in a towel? With all that bare skin just begging to be touched?

I hadn’t been able to shut the door fast enough, and thank God I’d been smart enough to bring my shit in there with me so we wouldn’t make the same mistake again.

When I emerged later, the hot water was spent, my cock fully satiated, and my body now fully dressed in a dry pair of jeans and a shirt. Luckily Hudson had put on some damn clothes, though it was still a button-up shirt, sans tie, and dark slacks. Even for a weekend away, he refused to drop the professional persona. He’d probably sleep in those clothes too.

He didn’t look up when I dropped my wet clothes on the floor, engrossed with something on his phone. I grabbed my wallet and one of the key cards and was about to head out when I realized the only pair of shoes I’d brought were soaking wet.

Shit.

“Going somewhere?”

“Yeah, I’m starving, so I’m gonna find that diner she mentioned.”

Silence. “Right. Well, I’m gonna do the same.”

Why did his voice sound strange? I glanced over my shoulder as he stood, and I realized then what was up.

“You were waiting for me?”

Hudson shrugged and shoved his hands in his pockets. “No. I guess I got sidetracked checking on emails and lost track of time.”

Uh huh.

“So…you want to go with?”

“No, but I don’t have many other options, do I?”

I bristled at that. Wow. The guy was something else.

Shoving the wallet in my back pocket, I turned on my heel and headed for the door, then Hudson called out, “You forgetting something?”

“My mind,” I muttered.

“No shoes, no service.”

I whirled around. “Pretty sure that shit doesn’t matter during a hurricane. Socks or they can kiss my ass.”
