“Is this a house or a five-star hotel?” Drew said under his breath.

“For you, it’s both.” Levi smiled and gave us a wink. “Settle in, let me go check on the vendors and track down Viper, and I’ll come back for you. Say, twenty minutes?”

“That’s great. Thank you,” I said.

As he walked off, the silence fell again between me and Drew, and I didn’t like it.

“You wanna take this one?” he finally said.

“Sure.”

He went to pass me, but I grabbed his arm.

“Drew, what are we doing?”

He sighed. “Can we not?”

“I’ve got twenty minutes that says we can.”

Drew pointed at the king-size bed in my room. “What are we doing? We’re getting our own beds finally.”

“What if I don’t want my own bed?”

“You’ve shared a shitty hotel mattress your feet hung off the end of for three nights. You’ll enjoy it.”

When he tried to pull away, I growled and hauled him into my room, shoving him up against the door.

“I don’t know what the fuck’s gotten into you, but I’m gonna need you to snap out of it.”

He tilted his head to the side. “Or what?”

With frustration riding me, I did the only thing I could think of. I kissed him. Hard.

Crashing my lips down on his, I took it all. His breath, his tongue, his exasperating silence. I kissed him until I was dizzy, until his cock stiffened against mine. Whatever was going on with Drew, it was all in his head, because his body was telling me he was mine.

With my body pressed up against his, I could feel the moment the tension left him, when he gave himself over. And still I explored his mouth, marking him thoroughly and leaving no doubt that what we’d talked about this morning was real and true. The thought that I could’ve opened myself up to Drew only to be so quickly rejected didn’t just sting. It hurt. So right now, that just wasn’t an option.

As scary as it was to admit to myself.

I nibbled and sucked at his lips, interspersing that with light kisses that made Drew moan softly. I didn’t know how long I went at him, but it didn’t matter. All that mattered was making things right, and Drew hadn’t been listening to my words. A hot make-out, on the other hand, seemed to work wonders.

Skimming my mouth along his jaw, I said, “Better?”

When he opened his eyes, a small smile crossed Drew’s lips. “Yeah.”

“Good.”

A throat clearing made me look over my shoulder to see Levi standing in the hall. Surprise flickered in his eyes as he watched us before he schooled his features into indifference. Knowing his job, he probably saw it all, but it wasn’t ideal to have these professional and personal lines crossing, at least not in my book.

“Should I come back?” he said.

I stepped back from Drew and smoothed a hand over my shirt as he peeled himself off the door. “No, now’s great.”

Except for the hard-on in my pants. That needed to be gone before we met up with Viper.

“I think a couple of the guys are playing pool down the hall, so why don’t you meet me down there when you’re”—Levi waved his hand in the direction of our hips—“all good.”

My face heated, but the reality was that I did need a couple minutes to make myself decent. Getting each other offwouldbe a fun way to take care of things, but Drew was already halfway to his room, and that probably was not the best idea right now.
