The air cracked with a lungful of Jack, followed by the fierce cries of his sister.
In full-on Superdad mode, Alex hopped to his feet, threw on a robe, and expertly took an infant in each arm. Cradling them, he hushed out, “Daddy’s here.”
Instantly, they settled.
Feeling ten feet tall, he waggled his brows.
Giggling, Madison leaned in and kissed him. “Are you sure you’re ready for the next chapter?”
He looked down at baby Jack, then at sweet little Jordan. Alex Drake had been many things. Super secret operative. Flagrant playboy. Seclusive billionaire. But now, he was wholly and unconditionally loved.
Forget glory and fame, money or titles. With a glance down at baby Jack, then at sweet, little Jordan, this was all he ever wanted. Catch in the park. Sunday picnics. Slipping away for romantic dinners with his wife, then returning to a houseful of kids.
Madison was right. He really did get his Christmas wish.
Children to cherish, a wife to adore, and a family all his own.
With a determined nod and a heart full of joy, he answered. “A thousand percent. Bring it on.”
