“Whatever you say, Jake from State Farm.” She giggles as she makes her way to the door of the gym and goes to grab the handle.

I help her pull open the door while giving her a raised eyebrow. “Funny jokes coming from the Pigeon Lady.”

She looks over her shoulder at me with a glare. “Keep it up and, I won’t let you eat anything I make for Blaze’s welcome home party at the shop.” She sniffs, making me realize that he’ll be back home soon.

We walk into the gym, side by side and, I am immediately glad I joined her today. The whole place is one big sausage fest with idiots taking selfies in the mirror to show off their weak ass muscles. For fuck’s sake, what has happened to men over the years?

“I forgot that he’ll be home in a few days.” I tell her while eyeing most of these fuckers with disdain. The only ones who don’t get that look from me are the fighters. At least they actually use their muscles. “He’s been gone so long, it’ll be good to have him back.”

She nods her head and smiles. “Yeah, he left after me only working there for like two months. It’ll be nice to have him back again. Maybe between him and Draven, they’ll be able to keep JT’s butt in line.”

I chuckle and shake my head. “Darlin’, he and JT are cut from the same cloth. It’s how they’ve managed to live together for so many years without killing one another. They could practically be twins.”

She pauses by the locker room and purses her lips. “Hopefully, him travelling all over the globe has managed to take that from him. You know, being around so many different cultures and everything.”

Truthfully, we were all surprised when Blaze brought it up at church one night that he wanted to go nomad for a few months to travel around the world. Something about picking up new inking techniques and finding himself or some shit like that. I mean, it worked for Edge since Draven had been about to return from his little trip to the penitentiary. It’ll be good for him to have a packed house with all of his strays again.

I smirk. “Yeah, maybe.” Not a chance in hell. “Go on and get ready. I’ll meet you back here.”

She stares at me for a few moments. “Oh, you don’t have to do that. I can just find Jameson on my own.”

I shake my head. “Nah, Sugar, I’ll be right here when you’re done.” She doesn’t need to know that I’ll be helping him train her from now on. She’ll find that out soon enough.

She purses her luscious lips but only nods her head before turning and walking into the locker room.

I rush into the men’s locker room and change in double time. No need for her to try another repeat performance of ditching me.

Forty-Five Minutes Later:

I knew that helping her train might be difficult for me given the fact that I want to wrap her up in bubble wrap and carry her around in one of those things parents sling across their chests. And truth be told, she’s so damn tiny, I could probably do just that with ease. But I had no clue how angry I would get watching her flinch in fear every time Jameson or I would come up from behind her. I swear to God, I hate her piece if shit ex almost as much as I hate my sister’s. (piece of shit ex) It fucking guts me every time I see her flinch or involuntarily hunch into herself.

“I think that’s enough for today.” Jameson states calmly as he looks at Cadie. “You made a lot more progress today.”

She snorts like a tiny piglet. “I still freeze.” She pouts making her already large lips even larger. I really need to get my mind out of the gutter, but one look at them and I’m back to thinking with my dick like a pre-pubescent moron.

J nods his head slowly. “Yes, but there were two of us coming at you. You did extremely well with that. You’ll be blocking our advances in no time Cadie; don’t worry.”

“If you say so.” She mutters looking unconvinced.

“I wouldn’t lie to you.” He gives us a sheepish look. “Trust me, my sisters tormented that from me years ago.”

I raise an eyebrow and cross my arms over my chest. “You never lie to your sisters?”

He looks at me with a smirk. “Only about if I ate the last of the ice cream or brownies. I only lie when it’s life or death.”

Cadie smiles and shakes her head ruefully. “Don’t you think it would just be better for you not to eat those things in the first place instead of having to lie about it?”

The look he gives her is nothing short of mischievous. “Nope. Especially not when none of them would ever admit to the others that they ate it. And with that many women, it seems most likely it was one of them. Not the only guy who spends all of his time training.” He gives her a big toothy smile making me chuckle.

“Payback, huh?” I ask.

He nods his head solemnly. “It’s the only thing I’ve got going for me against them. Plus, it’s a ton of funny watching them attack each other like rapid dogs over brownie crumbs.”

“That’s gonna come back to bite you one day, kid.” I tell him seriously.

He gives a careless shrug. “Maybe but, it’s worth it.”

After a few more seconds of small talk, Cadie and I both go back to our respective locker rooms to change. I’m happy when she walks out a few minutes later and doesn’t even look surprised to see me standing there. Small wins and all that.
