“They’re kinda your bread and butter, brother.”

He tilts his head back and takes a few deep breaths. Unfortunately, as the owner, it’s his responsibility to deal with stupid shit like customers. As the one who has to deal with shit like that too, I can commiserate, but only mentally. I’m enjoying this too much. “I know.” He nods while looking at me. “But it doesn’t make them any less of assholes in my eyes.”

I lean against the garage opening and cross my arms over my chest. “What happened? Why’s she so pissed at you?”

He snorts and shakes his head. “She’s pissed that we won’t give her access to track her husband through the new system. I had to explain to her that he’s our customer, not her, and that she needed to take this up with him.” He rolls his eyes. “She didn’t take that very well.”

“Gotta love those trust-filled relationships.” I chuckle.

He gets a gleam in his eyes I don’t like. “Speaking of relationships,” he gives me a big ass grin, “I see you have your truck today. That wouldn’t have anything to do with a certain employee of Edge’s….now would it?”

I can feel my cheek twitch. “Why do you say that?”

He gives me a bland look. “Cut the shit, man. You know the clubhouse is one big ass gossip mill. Most of the old timers have nothin’ better to do these days than talk about everyone.”

I decide to give him some truth, since he’s right, those fuckers don’t do anything all day but drink and talk shit. “She’s doing the cookin’ for Blaze’s thing at the shop. She doesn’t have a car and couldn’t carry all of that shit by herself.”

He gives me a shit-eating grin. “And you just happened to be nice enough to offer to drive her, huh?”

“Somethin’ like that.” I would love to knock that stupid look from his face but, it wouldn’t be in my best interest to punch the Vice President of the club.

He rubs his dirty ass hands together gleefully. “So, when do I get to meet the woman who is unknowingly carrying around your balls?”

“Never. I’m not letting you anywhere near her.” I growl.

His offended look would be funny if I wasn’t serious. “You know damn well I would never poach another brother’s woman.” He growls back at me.

“No, but you just piss them off until their homicidal.” I raise my eyebrows. “Look at Kealy.”

His put out look actually makes me want to crack a smile. “Come on, man, I need a new enemy. Thanks to Edge knocking up Kea’s ass, anytime I start with her, she either gets really mean or cries. The meanness I can deal with. But that crying shit is something else. I can’t handle that. She had a full ass breakdown a few days ago when I asked her if she was excited to walk like a penguin.” He shakes his head sadly. “Normal Kea would’ve just thrown back a smartass remark. Pregnant Kea started blubbering and hyperventilating so bad Dee looked like she was about to gut me for her.”

I smirk because I heard about that one. Edge saw the humor. Dee, well, we’re all pretty sure she’s plotting Xander’s untimely demise. “You ever think about not saying stupid shit to a pregnant woman? Or just going out and finding your own woman?”

His horrified look is ridiculous. “Fuck, NO! Women are too much trouble and nothin’ but drama. I don’t need that shit. And Kea was the perfect friend/enemy before she had to go and get herself knocked up with a little Edge or Edgette on the way.”

“She didn’t really pull that one on her own.”

“I know. I’m so fucking pissed at Edge’s unthoughtful ass.”

“Right.” I scratch my beard. “Very inconsiderate of him not to factor you in when getting her pregnant.”

“Right?” He nods his head like a moron.

All I can do is shake my head. “I really feel sorry for the woman who ends up stuck with you.”

“That is never gonna happen. I plan to stay single for the rest of my life. Why would I want one woman when I can have them all?”

“Right, cause they do nothin’ but flock to ya.” Truthfully, he’s only in his early thirties and is a good looking guy. Add in the fact that he’s the VP and all the bunnies at the club do flock to him. But at some point that shit gets old as hell. The only thing they care about is the patch.

“Says the man who’s been moping around for almost a year because the woman he wants doesn’t want anything to do with him.” The jackass snorts.

“I’m workin’ on that shit, all right?” Painfully slowly, but I’m a patient man when it comes to something I really want.

He gives me a sly look. “Did she even know that you were driving her? Or did you pull an Edge and just magically show at the grocery store?”

I crack a smile because that shit is funny. “Nah, I offered while walking her home from her training session.” He raises his eyebrows at me and wags them a few times making me growl. “No, she didn’t know that I was going to be helping her train in the future.”

He starts laughing. “You and Edge really are a match made in stalking. No wonder you two are so close. You both need someone who agrees with your delinquent plans.”
