I shake my head but turn around and get another mug out of the cupboard. I pass it over to her and move out of the way as she pours her own cup and uses the same creamer thing that Bri does. She then takes a seat on the stool next to Bri.

Dani takes a sip while looking between Bri and I over the rim. I can see her eyes dancing. “So, hooker, how's the sexytime with your boss been going?” She looks at Bri who promptly chokes on the coffee she was drinking.

Bri’s eyes are comically wide. “Wha-what are you talking about?" shesputters.

Dani takes another sip of coffee before giving Bri a grin full of mischief. “You have sex hair. And considering he’s the only other person in the house…" sheshrugs before giving her sister a wicked look. “Unless you got a little carried away with a battery-operated friend.”

“You make me wish that I was an only child,” Bri grumbles while turning about twenty different shades of red. I am absolutely convinced that Dani is going to be my new best friend. This chick is my kind of people.

“Please, you would’ve been bored without me.” She rolls her eyes and looks at Bri gleefully. “So, when were you going to mention that you were banging your boss?” She looks over at me critically before looking back at her sister. “Not that I blame you. He’s definitely easy on the eyes, but damn hooker, you could’ve been moreforthcoming.”

“This is why I never come home to visit,” Bri mutters to herself earning a snort from Dani.

“I’m why you haven’t been home in months? Me?” She purses her lips.

The glare Bri sends her way is filled with sibling annoyance. “Among other things.”

“Uh-huh,” Dani mumbles as she takes a sip of her coffee. Her eyes light up and Bri looks at her warily. “So,” she looks at me and bats her eyes, “know any single, hot bikers?”

The grin that comes across my face is automatic. “Ya know, I just might.”

I haven’t stopped smiling all day and I’m beginning to worry that my face might actually freeze like this. It would be worth it after watching Jax act like a complete fucking moron all day. I mean, shit, I had a feeling that he would like Dani, but damn I didn’t think she would make him go stupid. Pop, Edge, Marrow and I have been dying watching him. We were going to have more people over toPop'shouse, but after how Jax reacted when a prospect dropped something off for dad and got a little too close to Dani, we decidedagainst it. Thankfully, she didn’t seem to notice himgoing intoserial killer mode….but we did.

I feel someone sit beside me and look over at Dee who’s giving me a big smirk. “You look way too pleased with yourself," shesays while giving me a sly look. “Not that I can blame you.” She takes a sip of her wine and chuckles,“I haven’t had this much fun watching someone fail miserably in a long time.”

I snort before taking a swig of my beer. “I know.” My tone is downright cheerful. “It’s like Christmas came early.”

We clink glasses and smile at one another.

“Aw damn, is hell freezin’ over?” Dad looks between Dee and I with a frown. “Nothin’ good could ever come from you two gettin’ along.” He takes a seat next to Dee and wraps his arm around her, something he does frequently. He always has to be touching her, as if to remind himself that she’s really here.

“Ya, know, Pop, most fathers would be thrilled if his son got along with his Ol’ Lady," Idrawl.

“He has a point Mac, you should be happy that we’re getting along.” Her over dramatic assstates.

Pop takes a sip of his beer before sighing, loudly. “That would be true if you two couldn’t burn the town to the ground together. It’s for the safety of everyone else that you two never become too close.”

Dee and I look at each other and shrug, because he isn’t exactly wrong.

Bri walks over and I pull her into my lap, just because I can, making her let out a weird squeak. “Will you knock it off," shehisses while turning bright red.

“Nah, I’m good," Ireply, earning a glare.

“Darlin’, you’ve been living with my boy for weeks now, we all know that you’re together. No need to be embarrassed,” Pop states before giving me a wicked grin. “Well, not too embarrassed anyway. He’s not the best pick of the litter, but he’ll suit you just fine.”

I glare at my traitor of a father as everyone else chuckles. “World’s best father right here," Imumble.

“I don’t live with him. He’s just letting me stay there until Edge can fix my apartment,” Bri states, still clueless as to the fact that she is living with me and that there has never been anything wrong with her apartment. Well, except for her landlord being a conniving bastard who looks out for his friends.

“Oh, Sugar,” Dee sighs in pure Dee fashion. I would ignore it if my enemies numbered one and two weren’t looking at Edge and I like they’re sucking on a lemon. Shit. “You are one hundredpercentlivingwith thisfool,” she hooks a thumb in my direction, “and I can guarantee you, that there was never anything wrong with your apartment besides the man that owns it.”

Bri goes still and looks between Edge and I while narrowing her eyes. Across the room I can see Dani smirking in amusement, while the other two are still giving us evil looks. Marrow and Jax look like they’re playing dumb, like they haven’t helped us at all. “What is she talking about Xander?” Bri asks quietly, thebad quietly. The type of quiet before the shit storm that will hit.

“What do you mean?” I answer, earning a few snorts that I ignore.

Bri turns around in my lap fully and gives me a glare. “Why does Dee seem to think that there isn’t anything wrong with my apartment?”
