“I said, shut up, Kea," she snaps without any real venom behind it.

“I can see it now,” Cadie snorts. “He’ll kiss you so hard that you won’t be able to stand.”

“Cadence,” Marrow warns, but Cadie continues.

“He’ll kiss you so good that you won’t be able to walk straight," she giggles. “He’ll kiss you so good..." Marrow places his hand in front of Cadies mouth.

"That's enough wine for you, Sprite," Marrow grumbles, but I don't miss the twinkle in his eyes. "I think we should be gettin' you home," he says while picking her up as though she weighs nothing. But, considering some toddlers probably weigh more than her, it's probably not too difficult.

"Wha? What? Wait. No," Cadie protests weakly. "I'm not drunk. I'm fine, I swear. I'm just having a good time." She begins to struggle, her arms flailing around. "I just hit a wall," she whispers loudly.

"That wall you hit is me, sweetheart," Marrow laughs.

"No," she giggles. "I definitely hit a wall."

"Well, you hit it good and hard. C'mon, Sprite, I'm taking you home to sleep it off."

Marrow gives us all a chin lift as Cadie mumbles before he carries her away.

I turn my attention back to Bri. "So..." I start as I give her an award winning grin. "Want to go pack up the rest of your shit and bring it back to the house now?"

"Oh, hell no! I am not going to stay with you. It's insane. I am bringing all of my stuff back to my apartment." Her face is bright red and her hands are clenched into fists. Her body is tense, as if she is trying to fight the urge to throw a punch.

My heart is thumping so hard that it seems to be trying to burst out of my chest, my skin feels as if it is vibrating. My heart is beating so fast I can hear it in my ears. I think I may have a panic attack from just the thought of her moving out.

“Yeah, that’s goin’ to be a problem,” Edge says, pretending to look sorry.

Bri whips her head towards him so quickly, I'm afraid that she might've hurt herself. "Why would it be a problem?" she questions through gritted teeth.

"That would be my fault," Dani states with false regret all over her face. "I figured that you wouldn't want me to crash at Xanders with you so early on in the relationship, so Edge offered the apartment to me." Her eyes are dancing and I am even more convinced that she is my new best friend.

"When the hell did this even happen?" Bri shrieks a tiny bit.

Dani rolls her eyes and ignores the growl her sister sends her way. "I obviously stopped at the tattoo shop first." She looks Bri up and down. "How the hell did you think I found my way to Xander's house in the first place?" Huh, yeah, I hadn't really thought about that.

"But, I need my own place." Bri insists, looking around for anyone to agree with her. Unfortunately for her, everyone else seems preoccupied with something on the wall.

"Nope, you don't. You can stay with me, forever," I state.

"No, I can't. You'll get sick of me and toss me out." She looks at me, her eyes hard with determination. This woman is insane if she thinks I'm ever letting her go.

"I don't throw out my things. It's a waste of money," I deadpan. "Besides, you're mine. I'm not gonna get sick of you. I'm never getting sick of you."

"You're not going to be satisfied with just me," she prompts from a place in her mind that I don't like. I have a feeling why she thinks that and it has everything to do with her scumbag ex.

"I already am." I shake my head, watching her. "Are you satisfied with just me?"

"I'm..," she stalls, biting her lip. "It's not me that I'm worried about losing interest after a while." Her voice filled with sorrow.

I rub my hands up and down her arms and nuzzle her neck, breathing in her scent. Her skin is a delicate vanilla and warm sugar. Like a sugar cookie fresh from the oven, making me hungry, for not only food.

"Baby, you need to understand that I never give up what's mine. And you, you've been mine since you walked into the shop in those fuckin' painted on jeans."

“We’ll see," she mutters.

That we will.
