Our daughter.

Nell moved the blanket out of the way so that I could get a glimpse of her face, and I could have sworn that my heart stopped at the sight of her.

“She’s perfect,” I whispered, dipping my head closer to her so that I could take in every inch.

“She is,” Nell sobbed softly. “Our perfect, sweet, Georgia Justine.”

She wrenched her eyes away from our daughter and put them on me with a smile so bright and filled with love it would rival the sun for how much it shined.

“Georgia Justine,” I echoed with a soft nod.

Named after both of our mothers.

Nell had worked hard over the last nine months to repair her relationship with her family.

She was still uncomfortable with it at times, but they were growing closer every day.

And now, we had our daughter to help solidify that.

I smiled down at them.

The two girls who held my heart in the palm of their hands.

My princesses.

And I didn’t think I would ever be able to be happier than I was in that moment.

If someone had told me a year ago that I would find myself here, that I would find myself married, in love, and a father, I would have thought they were crazy.

I would have sworn that it wasn’t in the cards for me.

And how gloriously, beautifully wrong I would have been.

The End.
