The fact that everything is out in the open now gives me such a sense of relief, knowing we don’t have to hide our love, or sneak around anymore. More importantly, I don’t have to lie to my best friend.
It killed me having to keep things from Angelo, and it’s not something I am proud of. However, I figure taking a bullet for his sister and almost dying maybe puts me a little bit more in his favor. I hope I have redeemed myself in some ways, and if not, I’ll spend my life showing him how much I love her and will protect her.
There is nothing I will not do for the people I love. And I love every last one of them, even fucking Rocco.
As I glance to the door, I see Rayne and Katiya mingling with the rest of the family. My heart soars even more that all of these people care about me so much.
I will take nothing for granted. I never want to be a selfish man ever again, not seeing what is really in front of my eyes. Having this experience seems to have opened me up to so much that I didn’t see before. I never want to hide my love for Valentina, not ever.
I want to see those future children come to fruition. I want to be holding my little boy’s hand and my daughter in my arms. I will never forget that dream, or out of body experience, or whatever the hell it was.
I know my son is coming at some point in time. I feel him in my heart and in my soul. And my daughter, I didn’t get far enough in the experience to know what we were going to name her, but none of it matters. I feel them there, and that’s all that I need to know.

I want to be the man they deserve as a father, and as a husband. Nothing would make me happier than to have her as my wife.
“I’m so lucky to have found you,” she whispers to me as she pulls back to look at my face.
“I’m the lucky one, Valentina. To think, you were there all that time.” I stare into her eyes, and I know I’ll never want another woman again for as long as I live. She’s stuck with me now.
“Maybe we both got lucky, baby.”
Her eyes smile, and as she holds her forehead to mine, we just breathe and take each other in.
There is nothing sweeter than just being with her in this moment, taking in her sweet scent, knowing that we can be together at last.
A thought occurs to me, and I realize, there’s no time like the present moment. “Will you do something for me, Val, if I ask you very nicely?”
She laughs a little, biting her lip. “There is nothing I won’t do for you, Enzo, you know that.”
“Are you sure about that? You don’t know what it is yet.”
She shakes her head, “It doesn’t matter, I’ll do it. I’m all in.”
“All in?” I grin, it’s like music to my ears.
“Finito,” she confirms.
I smile and reach up to kiss her. “Finished, huh?”
“For all other men, yes. I want you, Enzo, so much. There will never be anyone else.”
“And you’ve got me, baby. Lean in closer, so I can ask you my question.”
She laughs and complies. I move her hair out of the way with my fingers as she bends her ear toward me.
“Sposami, bella donna?”
She gasps and looks up to me, her eyes shining so bright they are like sparkling sapphires.
“Sposami?” she confirms.
I smile too. I see the answer in her eyes already, and I know my life just got made.
“Yes,belladonna, will you marry me?”
She takes half a second before her shock turns into the most magnificent smile. “I’ll marry you!” she cries, reaching down to me and wrapping her arms around me.
