I’m almost bouncing up and down with nervousness and excitement, wondering if the next one is going to be me.

Rocco and Sloane have announced they won’t be having kids in the very near future, if at all, as they are very happy being fur parents to little Charlie and Bear. Just in case anyone got any funny ideas about hounding them.

Marco and Katiya are as loved up as ever, but they want to wait a few more years before they start trying. Marco keeps calling it “baby land” over at the casino. He’s not far off, it soon will be.

Enzo and Valentina were engaged last Thanksgiving, and they are planning their wedding in another six months. From what Valentina has told us, they are going to wait until then before they start trying to add to the Medici brood.

Mama Medici is certainly beside herself with happiness that grandbabies are finally on the horizon, and is busily preparing for all these grandkids she waited so long for.

We all gather every Sunday for lunch at her place without fail. It usually carries into the early evening. I can’t wait until the family expands even more, and the kids are all running around and playing together. That’s my dream. To have a big family.

We take our dog Luna everywhere with us. Fynn brought her home shortly after the Il Diavolo business went down. She has been a big comfort to us both. She’s a beautiful pure black Moodle and we’re totally in love with her. She’s a friendly little girl and loves Charlie and Bear like she’s known them forever.

She sticks her head in the bathroom door and looks up at me with her big brown eyes.

“Hey, darling girl.” I’m too scared to look down at the stick.

It should be one way or the other right now.

I bend down to pat Luna instead and scoop her up in my arms, cradling her back and forth. She licks my face. “Shall we see if I’m gonna be a mama? And you a big sister?”

Like she understands everything I’m saying, she tilts her head to the side. I swear to God, she really can understand every word. Even for a puppy, she’s soulful.

I glance down to the bench top and my heart literally stops…

My stomach drops to the floor.

I’m excited as much as I am nervous, and I’m in shock for several minutes as the feeling floods over me, then the tears start.

I hug Luna tightly. “I’m going to be a mom!” I exclaim excitedly, kissing her soft fur as she licks my face and squiggles in my arms. “You’re going to have a little brother or sister!”

I can’t believe this is happening… finally… my tears don’t hold back anymore.

I rush out of the bathroom with Luna in my arms and find my cell in the kitchen.

Setting her on the ground, I dial Fynn with shaky hands… I think he’s out with Dante at his place. He and Mia have been building their farmhouse on the land he bought at the auction where Rocco was nearly blown up. How I don’t miss those times.

He answers on the third ring. “Baby cakes…”

Yep, he still calls me that, and as much as I used to say I hated it, I actually never did.

“Fynn… Fynn… you’re not going to believe this.”

The line goes quiet for a moment, and I hear him take a breath. “Baby, are you all right?” He goes straight into worried mode. “Sage?”

I can’t get the words out, and I know I need to before he goes from worried to panic mode.

“I’m okay, Fynn… I took an umm… a pregnancy test.”

It goes quiet again, and I can almost hear the static electricity between us.

“What did it say?” he whispers.

He knows. He definitely knows, he just wants to hear me say it.

My heart flips. I know I need to have it confirmed. I can see my friend Layla at the hospital as soon as she can get me in. “I’m pregnant, Fynn. It said we’re pregnant!”

I reach down to Luna again and give her a scruff as she’s getting excited at my voice raising. Jumping up and down on the spot, I can’t help myself.
