Moving his arm, he wrapped it around her shoulders and held her firmly, kissing the top of her head. “Thank you for being the best wife and babygirl ever, Shortcake. I love you so much.”
“Even when I’m naughty?”
He chuckled. “Especially when you’re naughty because that means I get to see your beautiful round bottom with my hand print all over it.”
A grin stretched across her face. Her Daddy would find any excuse to touch her bottom. Not that she minded. In fact, she was already thinking up her next naughty adventure so she’d get her bottom smacked again soon.
“Shortcake, it’s a long plane ride home. I don’t think you want to spend it sitting on a sore ass. I can see you plotting something up already,” Knox whispered in her ear.
Damn. He was good.
Looking up at him, she found him grinning down at her. “Can we come here again, Daddy?”
Without hesitating, he nodded. “Of course we can. Maybe during Christmas like Master Derek said. I bet it’s even more beautiful on the Ranch during that time of year.”
“Yay!” she sang out.
The doors to the van closed and together as a family they watched Rawhide Ranch disappear from view as they headed toward the airport.
Though there would be many vacations to come, this was one they would remember for the rest of their lives.
