Talia hung up the phone and placed it down, making her way towards the door. She didn’t want to be in this room for one more second.
Pushing open the door, she pulled in a lungful of air. Her hands tugging her robe around her even tighter.
Ghost pushed herself off the nearby foyer wall and moved over to her.
“You ok?”
“He is not here” raising a shaking hand to her hair, Talia took the last few steps to the elevator. “I couldn’t stay. I freaked myself out. “
Ghost stepped beside her and playfully nudged her shoulder.
“The right time shouldn’t have any fear. If it’s meant to be, it will be amazing,” giving a whimsical shrug. Ghost frowned as the doors to the elevator opened.
Talia drew in a quick breath, her eyes meeting Draven’s unwavering stare. He walked ahead, flanked by his two bodyguards, who moved out to either side of her.
“What the hell?” Ghost’s voice fading as Draven reached out. Holding up his phone, he turned it around so she could see the screen. His thumb turning the volume up.
Staring at the security footage of her in his bedroom, she cringed as her voice filled the small foyer.
“I’m underground. In some goth club. San Francisco, I think,”
CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
She just made him mad.
Staring down at his phone, Hydes blood went cold. Ghost’s text was only five words. But they struck every nerve he had.
Moving without thought, Hyde left the meeting. His wolf roaring to life against the tight control he leashed it with. Making his way out of the barracks, he swung his leg over his Harley. Turning the ignition over and pulling out of the driveway.
He growled as his bike hit its top speed. It would not be enough.

THE THRONE ROOM WASeerily quiet. Refusing to lower her head, Talia forced herself to watch Draven. Moving around her, his every step echoing in the room’s silence. The watching vampires leaning forward, sensing the conflict within their King. Their cruel eyes eager.
“You know I love you,” his voice when he finally spoke, making her jump. “I have given you all that I can, treated you like the Queen you are. I gave you my complete protection.”
