“You want to go home with me for Easter?” she asked.

“I do. Since I’m taking you to your M&M, we can head for Fairhope right afterward.”

Surprise almost switched her back to that defensive posture, but his look kept her still. “They won’t let you come into the M&M. That’s just for medical…”

“I’ll wait outside. But I’m going, Les. I’m not asking your permission to do that. It’s my decision. After it's done, after you’ve held it together, been strong and handled what you need to do, someone’s going to be there to hold you. Or take you out for ice cream. You tell me you don’t deserve that backup and support, you won’t like where that conversation ends up.”

His resolute expression, his braced stance, reinforced it. Over the past few years, the words, “I can handle it,” or “I’ll take care of that” had become as SOP as her now pointless mirror mantra. She was strong-willed and determined. Whenever she spoke those phrases, they were accepted.

She should insist that she do this on her own. But he didn’t give a shit. He was going to be there. And if she decided to go home for Easter, he would take her to her family.

“So, you’ll follow me in my car…”

He shook his head. “You’ll ride with me. I’ve already talked to one of the guys I work with about it. He and his wife have family in Durham. They’ll take your car back there over the holiday and leave it at your condo.”

The feelings that swept her were so strong it almost brought back the tears. “Okay. I’ll think about Easter.”

His gaze slid back over her, slow. His lips tightened as she straightened further, lifting her chin, feeling her heart thud and her sex throb under his appraisal. God, she wanted him. So badly.

“We leave in fifteen minutes,” he said. “And Les, before tonight is over, I will be inside you. I like making you wait and want that so much you’ll beg me for it. I like the idea of being the one who gives you something you want that badly. Do you like that idea, too?”

“Yes,” she whispered. “Yes, Sir.”

Chapter Thirteen

“Don’t worry, you’re not going to be mugged.”

As he pulled into the parking lot, she was glad Brick offered that reassurance. They’d reached a much seedier looking part of Richmond, and rather than passing through it, he’d pulled into the parking lot of a dingy, large building. The tall neon sign by the road was unlit, no lettering and a couple jagged holes in the plastic face.

The building looked like an abandoned nightclub. Perhaps during the disco era.

On closer inspection, she did note the lot’s paving was black and smooth, and three tall security lights illuminated the entire area, currently occupied by about a hundred vehicles. She also saw two people at the double doors, with watchful expressions and dark suits, upscale security for arriving patrons.

The women approaching the entrance wore provocative clubwear, but she didn’t feel out of place in her dress. Brick’s jeans and button-down seemed to match what most the men were wearing, though some had gone more formal, with slacks and jackets over an open-necked shirt.

He handed her out of the truck. “Okay?”

Facing the new environment, her feelings were back on a roller coaster. “It was easier in the chair, to stay focused. When…”

He gave her an interested look. “When what?”

“I think you know.”

He turned her to him. “I’m sure I do. But you’re going to say it out loud.”

“When you were in total control.”

“I’m still in total control.” He laid his hands on her shoulders, thumbs against her pulsing throat. “Put your hands on my chest, Les.”

She spread her fingers over the wide expanse, feeling his heartbeat against her palms. “There are no expectations here,” he said. “You experience this how you wish to experience it. Ask whatever questions you want. Of me, or of the other people here.”

“I can do that?”

“If they’re not in the middle of a scene, yeah. Most welcome them from people who have a genuine interest.” He pointed a finger at her. “No flirting with the other Doms, though.”

She chuckled. “I feel so crazy inside. Afraid I’m going to mess something up.”

He put a hand under her chin, bringing her up on her toes so she had to hold onto him as he kissed her. “That’s not possible. You know why? I’ve already told you.”
