“Put it in your calendar? That might help,” Shyla teased.

“Maybe.”

“Maybe,” Rayne scoffed. “That thing is like your bible. If it’s in your calendar, it’s happening.”

“Okay, yeah.” Peyton laughed. “No, that’s totally true.”

“Alright, girl, come on back. I’ve got the treatment room all set up.” Rayne gestured toward the hallway that led to the various rooms in the center.

Peyton followed Rayne into the room. Soft, soothing music filled the air, and it smelled amazing.

“What is in that?” Peyton pointed at the diffuser puffing in the corner.

“It’s a relaxation blend that I make.”

“You make it?” Peyton asked. “Wow, that’s amazing, Rayne. Do you sell it?”

“Of course I do.” Rayne waggled her eyebrows. “Gotta cash in where I can.”

“Yeah, that’s you, greedy, greedy, greedy.”

“I choose to see if as accepting abundance in all areas of my life,” Rayne said. “I have several unique blends that I make, and people kept asking me if they could buy them to take home after their treatments, so I figured I probably should start selling them.”

“That’s amazing. I didn’t know you knew how to do all that.” Peyton looked around the room. “Every time I come here, I’m more and more amazed by everything you do.” She wrapped her arms around her childhood friend. “You’ve really built something to be proud of here, Rayne.”

“Who knew that weird little ADHD kid who couldn’t pay attention would become this blissed out goddess you see in front of you,” Rayne joked.

“Don’t laugh. You are a freaking goddess.” She squeezed Rayne tighter. “When I feel like garbage, I always know that I can come to you, and I will leave feeling better.”

“Thanks, honey.” Rayne squeezed her back. “With that said, let’s get you cleared. I could see how bogged down your aura was when you walked in. And your energy is feeling really—” She moved her fingers together and rubbed the tips back and forth, then flicked her wrists like she was sweeping it away. “I don’t know, heavy, sludgy maybe. Not like you. But that makes sense, given the past few days.”

“Sludgy, that’s comforting,” Peyton mumbled.

“Sorry, I don’t always have the best words to describe what it feels like to me. But don’t worry. I’ll get you sorted out.” Rayne walked over to the table and picked up a remote, then the music changed.

Peyton raised her eyebrow at Rayne as a woman’s angelic chant began streaming through the speaker.

“Trust me,” Rayne said. “It’s for sound therapy. I’m going to hit you with everything today. We’ll do some reiki and energy clearing, then we’ll do some yoga and meditation together at the end. By the time you leave, you’ll feel like a new woman.”

“I always do.” Peyton walked over to the massage table and lowered herself down.

Rayne adjusted the bolsters underneath her knees. “Are you warm enough?”

“I’m good.”

“Okay.” Rayne closed her eyes, brought her hands out in front of her, and raised them up to her throat as she took a deep breath and exhaled. “Ready?”

“So ready.” The music built and Peyton felt a wave of calm rush through her as she closed her eyes and surrendered to the treatment.

Peyton looked around the small yoga studio. How could she feel so completely different in two hours? Amazing. She could completely understand why her friend had chosen this career path. Rayne truly had a gift.

“You’re right, I need to regularly attend classes. Let me grab my phone and put it in my calendar because we both know if I don’t do that it’s not happening.”

Peyton grabbed her bag and sat back down on her yoga mat across from Rayne. She dug through her clothes, finally finding her phone at the bottom of the bag.

“Please don’t be work,” she muttered as she looked at her phone and the missed message showing on the screen.

“You know, you could just not answer it. You aren’t on call 24/7. The only person who expects you to be everything to everyone is you.” Rayne untangled her legs from her lotus position and stood up in one graceful move. How anyone could just comfortably sit in lotus for hours on end was a mystery, but somehow Rayne made it look so effortless.
