“Then I’ll join her.”
I make to push past her, and she grabs hold of my hand and says quickly, “Listen. Don’t go. I just want to say, well, I like her.”
“You say that as if I care.” I shrug her off and her voice follows me across the room.
“I never meant to hurt you, Leo.”
I turn slowly and regard her with daggers in my eyes. “You didn’t. You were nothing to me but a mediocre fuck. You see…”
I turn and advance slowly toward her, noting the flush to her cheeks and the sparkle in her eyes as she senses danger. She always got off on danger, proving what a sick bitch she is and stopping short of her, I hiss, “Don’t flatter yourself, stepmother. The only one who deserved you was our bastard father. Why do you think we all left? We were ashamed that we sank so low. We could have had anyone, and we settled for a fucking whore who was chasing a gold rush. Well, enjoy it while you can because in two days’ time, I expect you to pack your suitcase and set your sights on another poor fool, because there will be no place for you here.”
I make to leave and then say as an aside. “Oh, and by the way. I hope you can run fast.”
I waste no time in putting distance between us because one more second breathing the same air as that tragic excuse for a woman is too long and as I head toward my room, I have only one thing on my mind. Fucking my fake fiancée until she can’t even stand.
CHAPTER17
CHASTITY
As soon as I hear him coming, I smile to myself.
Game on.
He opens the door and sees me sitting in the middle of the bed completely naked, and his mouth drops. Before he can speak, I place my finger on my lips and shake my head, and I love the worried expression in his eyes as he closes the door softly.
As he turns, I watch him head toward me with an expression I’ve seen a thousand times before—desire.
I know men want me. I take good care of myself and don’t scrimp on the packaging. It’s my job to make men desire me, so it makes the kill that much easier.
I’m not going to kill Leo, merely teach him a lesson and so as he shrugs out of his jacket and sets his gun on the table, I watch him with a lazy interest.
He reaches the bed and smirks. “Honey, I’m home.”
Tossing my hair over one shoulder, I gaze at him through smoldering eyes and say huskily, “What took you so long?”
As he unbuttons his shirt, my gaze falls to that insane body and I suck in my lower lip and bite down gently, causing his eyes to flash with deepening darkness.
He moves his hands to his belt and as he pulls it through the loops, it makes a satisfying sound and pushing up to my knees, I hold out my hand, “May I?”
He merely nods before placing it in my hands, and I wrap it around his neck and pull him to my lips.
As we kiss, it’s long, lingering, and gentle. Slow and sexy with the promise of a night to remember. I make no secret of the fact that I want him. Hell, we’re two adults with no ties, so where’s the harm?
However, he has hired me to do something that may even cost my life and doesn’t make any pretense of that.
I can’t help but press my hands onto his chest and love the hard muscle that contrasts with my own soft curves. I reach for his pants and pull them down hard before saying huskily, “We should carry this on in the shower, don’t you think?”
He nods, reaching for my hand and pulls me from the bed, and we walk naked together into the bathroom. I place my finger on my lips and turn on the faucet and as the water rains down, creating steam, I pull him in after me.
As he makes to carry on where we left off, I shake my head and whisper in his ear, “Smile. We’re on tv.”
He stills as I continue to nibble his ear and say huskily, “Make it look real, but touch me and you die.”
“What are you talking about?” He growls and I shrug, running my hands down his body and stopping short of his rigid cock.
“The microphones won’t pick up the conversation through the shower, but they will when we turn it off.”
“Show me these devices.” He growls and I grab his face and pull his lips onto mine for a long and steamy kiss.
