She nods. “Yes.”

“You’re lying because this program isn’t on the system. It’s only on my desktop, accessible only to me.”

She lifts her chin. “Then how do all these people find it?” She gestures to the door, where behind it are dozens of people.

“Word of mouth,” I say vaguely.

She doesn’t say anything, just looks around.

I grip her face and make her look at me. “How did you get the app, Taryn?”

“I think you know.”

“So you hacked into my computer.” I say instead of ask.

Taryn stares into my eyes defiantly and gives me a curt nod.

“For fuck’s sake,” I say, shaking my head, blowing out a breath. “I should fire you.”

“That would be fine since I’m not sure I can work for you any longer, knowing you’re a part of this.” She again gestures toward the door.

“I’m sorry you think you’re better than everyone here and think everyone sticks to the same moral code, but not everything that goes on here is what you think. And not that it’s any of your business, but no, I do not partake. I have in the past but I don’t any longer. To answer your question.”

Her features soften. “But you set this up. And you don’t join in?”

“I only send out the app notification. Someone else is in charge of setting it up,” I confess, unsure why I’m even telling her this.

“And you show up here, to, what? Supervise?”

This woman and her questions. She’s infuriating. “I was meeting the owner. Now let’s go.”

She digs her heels in and looks at the room. “We’re not even going to have any fun?”

This woman is driving me insane.

“No, we’re not. I’m not fucking you here. When and if I do, it’ll be private. Not for people to watch.” I point to a small window that is shut, but has the capacity to slide open.

Her eyes widen. “Oh.”

I lead her by the arm out of the room and she goes willingly. Once we reach the front door, I nod at the bouncer and guide her to a limo I have waiting. I always hire a car when I come here. David doesn’t need to know about this place.

Before the driver can get out, I’m opening the back door. “Get in.”

She folds her arms across her chest. “No. I have my own car. I’m totally sober. I’ll leave on my own.”

“Nope, you’re coming with me,” I say, shoving her inside.

She makes a squeak of protest but I just slide in behind her, closing the door.

“Where to, sir?” the driver asks.

“My house,” I state.

He starts the car and begins to drive out of the parking lot and the sketchy area of town. He puts the partition up and increases the volume of the radio.

“What do you think you’re doing?” Taryn asks, glaring at me.

“You’re getting punished for hacking my computer. When did you do it, anyway?” I ask.
