“Congratulations,” I say, kissing the baby softly on the forehead and giving Sierra a side hug.

I look at Nathan. “How’s fatherhood?” I ask.

“Tiring,” he said. “But I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”

“I bet,” I reply, hugging him as well. I hadn’t seen him since the baby was born, he was taking an extended leave of absence from work to adjust.

“Are we next?” Lincoln asks me.

I shrug. “Maybe later. I’m selfish that way. I’d rather have you all to myself for the next few years if that’s okay.”

“It’s more than okay. I can’t imagine sharing you either. I want you all to myself as well.” He leans down and kisses me.

After we break the kiss, I look over to see Maria, Carter, and Gail smiling at me from behind the bar. They wear aprons and look tired from getting ready for this party. I wave and mouth a thank-you to them. I’m glad I decided not to fire Maria. Gail whipped her into shape and she became a more reliable employee. Guess she had the magic touch.

I look out over my new family. I was glad my Alabama family got to witness our impromptu wedding so they could share in our joy, and now my Silverstone family is here celebrating us.

“Thank you,” I say to my new husband, wrapping my arms around his waist and looking up at him.

“For what?” he asks, brushing his fingertips over my jaw.

“For giving me the fairytale I didn’t think I wanted.”

“You deserve the fairytale. You deserve the world, little dixie. Now kiss me.”

I lean up on tiptoe and press my lips to his as the room erupts into cheers.

I couldn’t have asked for a better life.

Now, as soon as Lincoln buys us the beach house I’ve been eyeing, it’ll be damn near perfect.

THE END
