“If you don’t mind…” I say, pulling my phone out. “I have Finn looking into her last known location as well. He may have found something useful.”

He nods, gesturing to the phone. “By all means.”

Dialing Finn's number, he picks up on the first ring and I place him on speaker. “I was just about to call you,” he says.

“I’m here with Ivan,” I inform him, looking down at the phone as I place it on Ivan’s desk.

I can tell the slight cough that escapes him was a failed attempt to mask his shock at that admission, but he continues on. “Traffic cams have the car coming to an abrupt stop at the intersection of Spruce and Cedar Avenue. They continue through the intersection and just as her detail goes to cross, they are t-boned by another SUV. I have guys heading out there right now to check it out. If I had to guess, I would say they are heading out to the warehouse district.”

“Get all available men out there searching. I want no warehouse left unsearched until we find her,” I order.

“On it, Dec.” He disconnects the call and I glance up at Ivan who is seething. “We will find her.” I assure him as I stand from my chair. I’m not sure if I say it as a reassurance for her father or for myself, but Natalia will be found.

“We should get going,” he says, grabbing his gun out of the drawer. “Stop by the guard on your way out and get your gun. You are going to need it.”

I nod, heading out of the house and back to my car. Once inside, I drive out of the gate, collecting my weapons and pull out behind Ivan.

We’re coming for you, mo ghrá.

Chapter twelve

Natalia

My vision is blurry as I strain to open my eyes against the harsh light surrounding me. Shifting in the uncomfortable seat, plastic crinkles under my feet and I realize that my hands are bound behind my back. Cursing under my breath, I survey the room.

It’s a pretty standard setup. A chair in the middle of the room, plastic on the ground, and there is a table just out of my reach with various tools laid out. I recognize the torture equipment immediately. I’ve used all of them.

Fuck. This is not good.

I strain against the bindings on my wrist, as a voice comes from the doorway.

“The harder you struggle, Natalia, the tighter those will get,” the man says.

Lifting my eyes, I glare at him. “You know, you made a mistake taking me, right?”

He chuckles and walks over, grabbing a knife off the table. “The heir to the Belov empire… your daddy will do whatever it takes to get you back. I plan to cash in on that as much as possible.”

Rolling my eyes, I laugh. Biting my tongue, I fight the urge to tell him my father will be the least of his worries once Declan finds him. “Have you met my father? Good luck with that.” As soon as the words are out of my mouth, my head whips to the side as his fist makes contact with my face.

Spitting out blood, I smirk in satisfaction as it covers his face. “You little bitch,” he grits out. I feel the cool metal blade of the knife in his hand press against my neck. “All it takes is one good nick andpoof. The Belov empire will crumble.”

“You know you can’t kill me. Not yet at least,” I tease. “Come on, that’s in the Torture for Dummies handbook.”

The blade presses further into my skin and I feel the familiar sting of my skin breaking. “You sure are a mouthy thing,” he spits.

“Yeah, I’ve been told,” I grin as I lean into the blade. I know that I’m pissing him off, but maybe if I can get him mad enough, he will start spouting useful information.

“Viktor,” Jared calls, strolling into the room. “That’s enough for now. The boss said he will deal with her when he is ready.” Viktor grunts and removes the knife.

My eyes narrow as I focus on Jared. “You know my father and Declan O’Connor will stop at nothing until I’m found, right? Then your little plan will be ruined.”

“Unlikely. We are in the most remote warehouse on this side of Philadelphia.” So, there’s nowhere for me to run.Perfect, I internally groan.

“What exactly is your plan, Jared?” I ask, fidgeting with the binds around my wrist.

“I’m just the hired help, Natalia,” he says, walking over and roughly grabbing my chin in his hand. “I must say, you were a lot harder to drug than your brother.”

My stomach drops at the mention of Dmitri.
