"I didn't know you too knew each other," I asked him
"Well that shouldn't be surprising" he retorted
"everyone here literally knows each other, what's surprising is that you know him and he bought something for you, something that he rarely does"
I waved him off "Don't bother we're just talking that's all" I said with a blank face trying not to raise any suspicion. The last thing I needed now was Ryan carrying news of me and Holden going out together or even worse dating, I already had enough to worry about
Meanwhile, I wanted to ask him what he and Holden talked about while they were outside but I didn't want to seem too interested, he was already asking too many questions.

"Did he tell you he was looking for me?" I asked
"Yes, and he seemed pretty flustered too"
"Most times it's usually the other way around with him being chased after"
"Chased after by who?" I laughed " The town belles?"
"I don't see him as the lovable people's favorite type that role will go to The Mayor, he seems more like the one the "town belles" will be after.

"There were some reports I wanted to ask you about what exactly to do with them, someone brought them. to my desk earlier that's why I was looking for you"
"What are they about?"
"Just assessment papers for teachers and request for budget approval"
"Okay, the assessment papers will go into the file designated for them while the budget request will be sent to the Mayor's desk for him to go through it.
"Yes about that, I haven't seen him since morning after the briefing meeting, is he alright?" I asked
"Yes he went on a general inspection today"
"I didn't know today was the official inspection date"
"You're quite right, it isn't but sometimes Luca likes to go on surprise inspection, catch them off guard, helps to keep everyone on their toes," he said approvingly
"Also Holden mentioned that they were going somewhere together"
"Holden and the Mayor? It just didn't fit that they'll have anything to do with each other, especially with Holden's dislike for politics"
"What could they possibly want with each other?" I asked him
