“Exactly.” I was beginning to feel the heat again.

“So, who do we have in mind?”

We? Of course, he said we. He had practically shifted all the thoughts from his mind just to give this his full attention. To give me his full attention. I loved how he paid attention to me as I spoke, something Holden really could not handle. “I’m not really sure.” That was my best bet. I really wanted to say Stella, but she didn’t have the opportunity at the moment whilst we were in the restaurant, and even with the discovery Matteo had gotten on his iPad, we were still not sure. It could really just be anyone right now. Holden, or even Troy from the coffee shop.

“So, how do we narrow down suspects?” He asked, quite excitedly. Boy, was he getting a kick from the discoveries, and man was he terrible at hiding it.

“Really, I don’t know, but do you have access to security cams anywhere?”

“Or do you mean everywhere?”

“I don’t follow.”

“I’m the mayor. You should be asking if I had cameras in front of people’s houses too.”

“What?”

“Sorry, that sounded sort of creepy.”

“Heck yes, it did.”

“You actually started it. Talking about security cameras.”

“This has to be the most unsexy conversation. Ever.”

“Who was trying to make it sound sexy?”

“You. That’s who?” For a moment, as I laughed, I got completely lost in his eyes. They glowed with an utter radiance that enveloped me whole. I couldn’t think straight. Hell, I could barely breathe. That was how complicated Luca Silvestri made me feel. Boy, did he just feel like the one!

I could feel his breath close to mine, reeling me in. The winds powerfully swooshed the leaves from the pine tree outside the windows, yet it was the pounding of his heart I could hear, and the sensuousness of his tone. As I inspected all of him, I knew he inspected all of me, my curves, my lips, my lashes. But, he was just all over my mind. I wanted to have him in me this very moment. I wanted to toss all the documents to the ground. I wanted to flip and turn and moan as he slid into me. I wanted to grab him by his chest and rip his clothes to shreds. This vigor burned within me in a way I had never seen before, and Lord knows I had never experienced it this deep before, too. It was bountiful. It was immeasurable. There were certain times where I couldn’t help myself and I tried to sculpt my perfect man. I would trace my fingers down my belly, and my bite my lips, and moan softly as I made my way to my rosy box. I would twirl my fingers within, and scream, as I would imagine this perfect man, with all his muscles and a youthful charisma thrust powerfully into me, so I was catapulted to an emerald of pleasure, a delight so strong it strung my skin and skinned me till the pain erupted out of me, to the point where I had forgotten my name.

Luca Silvestri was that perfectly sculpted man I had waited so long to hold, to be drawn to. Everything was in slow motion when we were together, alone. He batted his eyelashes for seconds, pursed his minutes, and moved toward me for hours. Gosh, it was taking so long, but I had seen the signs, the green signals. And, so, I pressed my face to his and our lips jammed into a warm togetherness that was certain to overflow into my fountain of delight. He felt through my hair like he was searching for something divine, and I caressed his back because I wanted him pressed to me, so I could feel his dick on me. How else could I tell him I wanted him there and then and unrelentingly? Every single inch of him!

“Oh, no.” I stopped kissing him and flew backwards. “I’m sorry, I can’t.” I couldn’t believe I had just said that after initiating the kiss and extending it, even. But, what was I sorry for. I was single. I was ready to mingle. Holden and I had taken a break before the accident, so why was I still feeling so hella guilty? I didn’t like this newfound feeling. I hoped it would purge itself away, and fling to a place it could never be found. I knew what I wanted, I knew it desired me too. I was just about to get it, but my tangled emotions just had to get in the way.
