“Oh, I know. The man is diabolical. A master manipulator,” Becca muttered. “No, I’m better off by myself.”

“Or with Cameron,” Marcie said with a grin.

“What?” Jayne and Genie said in unison.

Marcie’s eyebrows rose in disbelief. “Are you two saying you haven’t noticed the sexual tension between those two?”

“No!” Jayne said, and Genie agreed.

“Exactly,” Becca reiterated with a scowl. “Because there isn’t any except in your twisted mind.”

There was a long moment of silence as everyone thought about her and Cameron. “How are you and Chet?” Becca asked Jayne, diverting the subject off herself.

Jayne’s smile filled her whole face.

Marcie burst out laughing again and took a long pull off her beer. “Enough said.”

“What about you, Marcie?” Jayne asked, laughing with her friend.

“I’m still playing with my options.” Marcie glanced around the bar, her eyes lingering on the same handsome man at the end of the bar wearing flannel and cowboy boots she’d been eyeing before.

“And she has a lot of options,” Becca said with a grin. They all laughed.

“What can I get you girls?” The waitress Becca had noticed when they first came in approached the table with her order pad in her hand.

“Nachos,” Becca said.

“A cheeseburger,” Marcie said.

“Sweet potato fries,” Genie added.

The waitress looked at Jayne. “All that sounds great. I can’t decide.”

They laughed. “We can share,” Becca told her.

“Throw in some onion rings,” Jayne said. “We’re splurging today.”

The waitress smiled. “Oh yeah? Special occasion?”

Becca and Genie held up their hands. “Birthday.”

She looked at them, taking in their identical appearance. “Twins?”

“We’re actually triplets,” Genie said, “but our other sister couldn’t be here.”

“Triplets?” she said. “How fun. I’ll get that order right out. Can I get you something to drink?”

“How about something slushy and fruity?” Becca asked.

“Strawberry daiquiris?” The waitress asked.

They nodded.

“Four daiquiris coming up.”

Becca turned to her sister as the waitress walked toward the bar. “She looks so much like Mom did it’s freaking me out.”

“You think?” Genie’s gaze assessed the waitress and she nodded. “I can see it. I sure hope Debi shows up soon.”
