“Anything else?”

“I’ve detailed everything in my email. Also, I finally managed to trace the latest gossip about Adeline. It originated from her sister.”

Jesus.

And yet, this doesn’t surprise me.

We end the call and I phone Hudson.

“You’ve read Gabriel’s email?” I ask.

“Yeah.”

“End this bullshit. Get that information out there.” Once the news breaks of the fraud Huntington is committing, it won’t take long for JRO to collapse.

“I’m on it.”

I step into the elevator after we hang up and turn my thoughts to how I’ll proceed with the information Gabriel just gave me about Sabrina. My first instinct is to share it with Adeline. In my opinion, the more information a person has in order to decide on a course of action, the better. However, Adeline is in turmoil over her family. She hasn’t heard from her sister since Christmas, and I know she’s battling thoughts of removing Sabrina from her life.

Her sister has broken her heart and I’m unsure if I want to break it even more.

I reach the penthouse, and after speaking with Jeff, I stride down the hallway to the bedroom. I find Adeline in her bathroom, leaning close to the mirror at the vanity, squinting at something on her chin.

Moving behind her, I place my hands to her hips and watch her in the mirror. For the life of me, I can’t figure out what she’s doing with her chin. “What are you doing?”

Her eyes meet mine, widening as she says, “I just found a fucking chin hair.” Her eyes widen some more. “I’m thirty. How is this even a thing at this age?”

My lips quirk. “You don’t have hair on your chin.”

More of the eye widening. “I do.” She jabs at her chin. “It’s right there. Trust me; you men have no fucking clue about the things women go through. Chin hair!”

I reach my arms around her to find the button on her jeans. Undoing it, I say, “Trust me, I’ve studied your face enough to know there are no chin hairs.”

That quietens her.

I lower her zip and slide my hand into her panties. The sound she makes when I circle her clit is a sound I never want to not hear.

She wraps her hand around my forearm, her grip tightening with each moment I make her wetter.

I push two fingers inside her. “We need to renegotiate our contract.”

She bites her lip as I reach in deep. “Why?”

I kiss the side of her neck. “I never want to see you on a magazine cover again without any clothes on.” I had Shantel buy every copy she could find of the issue that went on sale this week. The fact the magazine also sells in digital format did not please me.

She bends slightly, drops her head, and places her hands to the vanity to hold herself up. Her breaths are coming faster as she argues with me, “I had clothes on.”

My fingers inside her work faster as I press more kisses to her neck, biting her lightly as I go. “You were barely clothed.”

She grinds her ass back against my dick. “Don’t be dramatic. I’m not renegotiating anything. You’ll need to learn to be okay with my skin on display.”

I thrust my fingers in rougher. I’ve come to the place where I won’t ever be okay with that. “At some point, you’ll run out of magazines who will photograph you with skin on display.”

She lifts her head and finds my eyes in the mirror. “What do you mean?” I know by her tone that she’s already connected the dots.

I grip her face and angle it to the side so I can bring my mouth to hers.

I kiss her.
