I turn in his hold and look up into his blue eyes. “Your favorite kind.”

He smiles down at me with so much love. “Yes, Mrs. North, my favorite kind.”

The elevator stops and the other couple exit before it continues up to our floor.

A text comes through on my phone, and since it reminds me that I promised my girls to text them once I was married, I check it.

Poppy: OMG did you girls see this????

She links us to an Instagram post.

@thetea_gasp

OMG girlfriends,do we have some juicy tea for you tonight?! Gather round. @bradfordblack our favorite sexy future Presidential candidate (we hope!) just got married and NOT to his fiancé #gasp We can officially confirm he married @kristenblaise tonight in Vegas. No official statement from either party has been released but look at the happy couple in that photo #swoon We all knew Bradford and @thececeliaaniston lacked something, and now that we’ve seen this photo of him with his new wife, we can see what that was - #passion. Stay tuned for more soon because you just know there’s going to be so.much.more from this couple.

I showOwen who frowns and shakes his head. “That has to be bullshit.”

“I don’t follow this gossip account, but Poppy does and says it doesn’t post anything that isn’t true.”

He pulls me close and kisses me again. “Put your phone away, Mrs. North. We’re almost at our floor and you have your first job as my wife to do.”

“Wait.” I laughingly push him away. “I have to text my girls.”

He keeps trying to pull me into his arms. “Why? Can’t it wait?”

I look at him very seriously. “No. I have to tell them that I am now your wife. It’s the happiest day of my life and my girls need to share in that with me.”

His expression turns serious. “It’s the happiest day of my life too, Charlize.”

I reach for his face and kiss him.

This kiss is slow, and we lose ourselves in it.

I will never love another person as much as I love Owen.

When he pulls his mouth from mine, I say, “For our third wedding, I want the top package with three songs and the sunglasses.”

He grins. “Our third?”

“Well, you do realize we’re still going to have to have our April wedding for our mothers, right?”

“Fuck. I was hoping we could skip that.”

“If you think we have any chance of Joan Cohen and Mary North letting us skip that wedding, you are dreaming. Our mothers have trained for that day their entire lives.”

I send the text to my girls.

Charlize: You can officially call me Mrs. North now. And Pop, he’s giving me the eye, so I must go.

I then place my hand in my husband’s and begin our married life.

Deciding not to run from Owen, and to trust that he would keep showing up, continue keeping his word, and never stop giving me every piece of himself was the best decision I ever made.

I have loved all of our dating moments, but I think our married moments are going to be the best moments of my life.
