Uh, no.

Where did that thought come from?

But also, honey take your eyes off those buttons. They’re mine.

I need champagne.

Now.

I excuse myself from Joss and make my way to the bar.

Owen watches every step I take. He might be talking with that woman who is throwing herself at him, but he doesn’t take his eyes off me. By the time I reach the bar, my legs are weak and butterflies have taken over my stomach.

The way Owen watches a woman he wants to fuck should be banned if he can’t follow through.

I try to find my legs again while I wait for the bartender. Not an easy thing to do when Owen has made it so my legs don’t even know what their function is anymore.

“Charlize.” Warm breath whispers across my neck and I jump.

“Shit,” I mutter. “I’ve told you that you need to give a girl warning when you’re thinking about sneaking up on her.”

“You couldn’t see the warning in my eyes as I watched you?” His voice is so damn growly and sexy. “I’ve undressed you five times over. Just like every man here tonight has. When you’re mine, we’re going to have to negotiate the dresses you wear.”

I grip the counter of the bar as I do my best to calm the sensations his words cause.

When you’re mine.

I’ve never felt so wanted.

Twisting, I face him. “I’m not good at negotiating, Owen.”

“Then it’s a skill you’re going to need to learn.”

My breaths come a little faster. “I’ve never let a man into my life who wanted to control what I wear, and I’m not about to now.” I might be saying these words, but I can’t deny I’m so turned on by the thought of battling Owen for control. And by the possessiveness blazing from him.

His gaze drops to my neck, my throat, my chest, and the entire room falls away.

It’s just us.

And a steady hum of need that we’ve been trying to silence for days.

Unable to stop myself, I move my hand to his jacket.

To his stomach.

Tohim.

He finds my eyes again. “I’m not interested in taking control of you. I’d just like to keep dresses like this one between us.”

Silence descends on us again as we watch each other. I don’t think we even need words right now. The electricity between us speaks volumes.

Our silence is interrupted by Joss who wants to continue an earlier conversation he had with Owen.

I excuse myself so I can go to the restroom.

I stay in there for a great deal of time.

I begin to make plans to stay all night because that would be safer for both of us.
