There was a one-second pause where she looked into my eyes.

Then she planted her lips to mine.

Not the hottest kiss of my life - by far - but also a far cry from a casual kiss hello or goodbye.

Not that Fiona and I were even onkissing terms.

We were more on the terms offuck each other when nobody is lookingterms.

But that always came with a sense of plans.

There was never any surprises.

Not like… that…

Fiona jumped out of my arms and wiped her lips.

“You smell horrible, Griffin,” she said.

I laughed. “I just got back from the gym, Fi. Didn’t know I was going to have company.”

“I didn’t know you were going to have company either,” she said.

“So you just appeared from nowhere then?”

She put her hands under her chin and batted her eyes at me. “I fell from heaven.”

“More like climbed out of hell, sweetheart.”

Fiona laughed.

She crunched up her nose and her face squished.

She had an annoying laugh and looked the same.

Not a care in the world.

Or so she tried to offer the world.

“What are you doing here?” I asked.

“Well… hey, guess what? I just cheated on someone with you.”

“What?”

Fiona puckered her lips and kissed the air.

It always took her about two seconds to make my head spin like crazy.

This was no different.

Only this time I had zero warning before the beautiful tornado namedFionashowed up.

“Once again, you smell really bad,” she said.

“Heard you the first time. I was trying to take a shower when you showed up.”

“Need help?”
