One woman bartender making sure everyone had their drinks.

She turned out to be a fan of the team and felt our pain over the loss.

She said it was against management rules to ask for pictures or autographs.

Lay stepped right into that though.

Fuck the rules.

We all signed a bar menu for her.

And Lay asked her to take a picture of us using her phone.

But she had to be in the picture too.

The one highlight of any otherwise shit night.

The game eventually replayed in my head.

Weak legs. Poor passes. Just not a care in the world for the game.

Sometimes that happened on road trips and away games.

Now, one bad game wasn’t going to ruin the entire season.

Of course, I took it personally because I had somewhere else to be.

Miles and miles away. Back home. In my bed. Fiona with me. Naked. On top of me. The two of us rolling around between the sheets. Touching. Tasting. Kissing.Everything-ing.

I put my head back and sighed.

“Ut-oh,” Remi said. “Looks like the precious angel is upset again.”

I gritted my teeth.

“Lay off,” Reid said. “And fuck off.”

“Aw, Riff, you got people defending you now,” Remi said.

I stood up. “I will end you right now, Remi. Since you’re suddenly so talkative. What is this? Huh? Taking a trip down memory lane? If so, let it all replay. Remember what really happened.”

Remi tried to jump over everyone to get to me.

The bartender gasped and stepped back.

For a second I thought she was going for her phone.

That would be a total disaster.

Reid saw the same thing.

He and Abel got a hold of Remi and got him away from me and away from the bar.

Remi didn’t say anything but the death stare he gave me was pretty brutal.

I curled my lip.

Almost smirking.
