“She told you that? You’re a part of this?”

I shook my head. “I honestly thought she was with you. But before she left, she said something about us getting along. It hurts her that we don’t get along, Remi. For no good reason either. Your ass is raw over me falling for your sister. And even more raw over the fact that I saved your life.”

“That’s it!”

Remi started to chase me again.

I -again- ran around my own car.

Keeping a healthy distance from Remi’s grasp.

He had a look of pure rage in his eyes.

Meaning he wasn’t going to stop chasing me.

I finally succumbed and stopped running.

I turned and put my hands out.

Remi knocked my hands away, grabbed my shirt and pushed me against the car.

“Are you insane?” Remi growled. “We’re supposed to make sure she’s safe.”

“I’m sure she is,” I said. “We need to work this out first, Remi. You and me. It’s not fair to Fiona. We both care about her.”

“Don’t say that!” Remi yelled, slamming me against the car. “You’re nothing, Riff. Remember that.”

“I’m the opposite of that, Remi. I’m everything. To you and to her. I saved your life. I saved your sister’s heart. There’s nothing you can do about it.”

“Riff, I’m not joking…”

“Neither am I,” I said.

That’s when I slammed my hands to Remi’s body and threw him away from me.

He almost lost his balance.

He looked at me in shock.

I tightened up my hands into fists and nodded.

“Oh, you’re dead,” Remi said with a smirk.

Without another word we went for each other again.

As violent as it was on the ice.

Except nobody was there to stop us.
