Now that I have my bearings in place, my breathing calms down.

I look down. Blood stains my hands, a vivid reminder of the brutal conflict that just occurred.

I stand trembling, leaning against Felix for support as my heart races.

Felix watches me, his breath is ragged and his clothes torn.

His face is a canvas painted with bruises and cuts, but his eyes burn with determination.

"What are you thinking?" he asks, his voice hoarse from exertion.

I shake my head, unable to find my voice for the emotions running through me.

The terror and desperation of the fight linger in my bones, making it difficult to form words.

As I look into Felix's eyes, my vision blurs with unshed tears.

"Rosalie," he says softly, pulling me into a tight embrace. "It's over now. We're safe."

"Thank God you came when you did," I whisper, clinging to him as if he's my anchor in a stormy sea.

"I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't been there."

"Shh," he soothes, gently stroking my hair. "You were so brave.

You protected our child, and that's what matters most."

“I thought I wouldn’t be able to protect our baby,” I say again, reality settling in.

“He… he was going to marry me and put me under a forced abortion.”

“He did what?” asks Felix, taking a step back. His voice is ice-cold.

“Threatened to kill our child,” I mutter.

Felix looks towards my feet, picks up the gun and walks back in the direction he just came from.

Drucci's lifeless body lies sprawled on the ground, a pool of blood slowly expanding around him.

The fight's aftermath is chaotic, with people shouting and running in every direction.

I clutch my stomach protectively, feeling the baby inside me stir uneasily.

"Stay close to me," Felix says, his voice tense as he scans the area for any potential threats.

My heart races, adrenaline still pumping through my veins despite the exhaustion that threatens to overtake me.

"Are you okay?" I ask him, noticing a cut that's bleeding freely above his eyebrow.

He brushes it off with a grimace, his eyes never leaving the chaos unfolding around us.

"I'll be fine," he replies, his tone reassuring. "Right now, we must focus on getting you home safe.”

Angelo and Tony flank us on both sides as we walk toward the car.

I know I'll never walk alone again, and neither will my baby.
