It’s going to take every ounce of strength within me not to kill him.

I turn down a dimly lit street. Huddled on the sidewalk is a group of hooligans, stopped over a barrel from which there came a fire. Knowing them, they were going to try and start some trouble but I pray for their sake that they don’t.

They inevitably notice me as I come up their way. They didn’t scare me enough to make me cross the street. Between them, they elbow each other and gesture toward me.

Big mistake boys.

One of them steps forward.

“What do we have here?” he calls.

“You got lost at the wrong place and the wrong time buddy,” says one of his cronies, coming to his side.

“Out of the way,” I snarl, now slowing down as I march toward them.

“Not so fast-”

The bastard’s mouth is shut by my punch. I feel the crack of his teeth as I connect, causing him to reel back in pain. I then throw him to the ground, knocking him out with a hard impact. Turning to the others, I raise my hands, my thirst for violence fed by their fear.

“The rest of you got something to say to me?” I yell.

“Crazy son of a bitch,” they scream, turning on their heels to run. Some fall over each other in their panic.

I turn around, continuing to meet my true target. I turn onto the street where Kyra was forced to live. Her house is the last one on the right. The moment where I’m walking up to the door is when I feel the biggest urge to murder Mosar, but it’s more than he deserves for what he’s done.

I’ve known some terrible minotaurs living here but Mosar took the cake, still treating Kyra as if she were his property.

By the time I'm done with him, he’s going to be on his knees begging to me.

I come to his front door and start pounding.

“Open up!” I call through the door. I didn’t care if I was catching the attention of the neighbors.

“Who is it?” says a voice through the door. He sounds wary.

“City guard, open this door! That’s an order.”

“Why are you here?”

“Don’t play stupid with me Mosar, you know why I’m here!”

“What?” he exclaims. “How do you know my name? Whatever, I’m not opening shit pal!”

“This is your last warning!”

“Go fuck yourself buddy!”

Have it your way.

I take a step back, bracing all of the muscles inside my body. I lunge forward,

shouldering through the door, taking it off of it hinges entirely. Down at the end of the hallway, Mosar turns and retreats into the door behind him.

“Get the fuck out of here!” he yells through the door. “Who are you? Some kind of madman?”

“This could all be so much easier if you complied!”

“Comply with what? I told you I did nothing wrong!”
