“Haven’t had a single one that’s not happy, healthy and adorable,” Dr. Miller says, looking towards Eden before adding, “and these two won’t begin to break that streak.”

“I…huh?” Eden says, her gaze moving from the doctor to me in confusion.

“Jude is not a carrier of CF, which means your babies cannot have the disease, even if you are a carrier,” Dr. Miller tells us, and the little cry of relief that flows from my girl is music to my ears. “Now, I know you’ve been stressed over the worry about something possibly being wrong with your babies this the last week, and your weight reflects that, Eden. You’ve lost four pounds, so I want you to rest, and relax and regain that weight. You didn’t need to lose it to start. I’ll schedule you to come back in two weeks to recheck it, but if anything comes up before that call immediately, alright?” she adds after letting us listen to our babies’ heartbeats, and doing a full check on my girl that leaves me comfortable with taking her home.

“Thank you,” Eden says, nodding before turning her face into my neck, the tears shimmering on her lashes killing me, but I know they’re necessary.

“Take as long as you need, they’ll have your appointment scheduled at the desk when you leave,” Dr. Miller states, and I wait until she’s gone before sitting down in the chair, opening my arms for my girl. She doesn’t hesitate, slipping onto my lap and wraps her arms around my neck, holding onto me, as I hold her tight.

“It’s okay, baby girl. Everything’s going to be okay,” I promise, kissing away the remnants of her tears when they stop. Then claim her lips with a gentle kiss that leaves a smile on them for us to walk out of here with.

“Thank you, daddy,” Eden says when we’re in the car on our way home. “It’s been rolling around inside my head all week, hoping, praying that our babies would be okay, but too scared to learn they might not be…”

“I know, and I understand. I didn’t want to think there was something that could hurt our babies before they’re even here. I read up on CF after you were asleep Saturday night and one of the things was both parents had to be carriers in order for it to potentially affect the child. We’ve never had anyone on Dad’s side with it, but it didn’t rule out being a carrier. Mom was a bit in your place, didn’t know her father so I called Dr. Miller Monday morning to see if they could screen me for it. When she heard why, she had me come straight there and expedited the results and also set you up for today in case you weren’t doing good with the wondering.”

“I’m so relieved we don’t have to worry about it anymore,” Eden sighs, her face turning towards me and the soft smile on her lips is one I love seeing. “If it turned out that they had it…I love them so much already.”

“So do I, baby girl. I know what you mean though. No parent would want their child to have a disease that can kill them. We’d still love them, but it would hurt too to know they couldn’t be normal kids.” Her eyes water a bit at my words, and I press a kiss to her lips before the light turns and we finish the drive home.

“Everything’s okay, isn’t it?” Mom says as we move into the house, smiling as she wraps Eden in a hug that I know my girl needs. It’s one thing for her to crawl into my arms, but it’s another to get a mom hug.

“Jude’s not a carrier,” Eden’s muffled voice says, and I drop a kiss to her forehead when she lifts her head, then help her with her new coat. She said I went overboard buying her new stuff, which simply made me chuckle, before telling her I’ve got nothing on Johnnie. She didn’t believe me until Carly confirmed the insane amount of clothes that Johnnie bought for herbeforethey were even together or knew her name.

“We’ve decided to go ahead and have an amnio done at seventeen weeks as well, so we’ll know more about our babies before they get here,” I add to Mom, holding her gaze as she nods in understanding. “Until then, someone’s supposed to rest and relax to regain the weight she lost this week.”

“Let us know if you’d rather not, but your sisters are ready to duct tape your brother and ship him off to Siberia, so we can come by and help out with the babies this weekend,” Mom offers, making Eden laugh softly after Jaime’s grumbling about Jeffery yesterday.

I can understand why my younger brother is frustrated though. He did nothing wrong and yet it feels like he’s the one being punished by being home rather than living his life up at college. He doesn’t understand that just because what happened isn’t true, that he has a solid alibi for three days around the time the girl claims the assault happened, doesn’t mean that everyone believes it. Especially not with our family’s wealth.

The school is doing an investigation. The police are doing a separate investigation. The kids at his school have been all over social media about it, the accusations. The half that doesn’t believe my brother is innocent, are divided between ones that say it doesn’t matter what anyone else says, they believe the girl, while the other half keep mentioning that our family has the resources to buy an alibi.

I mean, yeah, it’s true. We could fabricate something with enough cash, but they don’t have the first clue that we’d never do it. Especially not to cover up an assault. Hell, our dad would be the first in line to kick one of our ass if it were even remotely true. One thing we were all taught growing up was if a girl said no, you backed the hell off. Didn’t matter if you’d been together for years, if she said no, you stopped.

Some of that stems simply from having money, knowing there were greedy people out there that would lie and cheat to get it, but mostly it’s just because it’s the right thing to do. Not to mention who wants to be with someone that doesn’t enjoy what you’re doing, physically or otherwise.

I can somewhat relate to Jeffery’s issues to some extent. I never had a girl accuse me of assault, but I’ve had one or two try to claim they were pregnant after we’d been together. They threatened to go to the tabloids with it and while most of me wanted to say, go for it, knowing they were full of shit. The other part of me knew it’d create bad press for the family name. Worst though, it’d crush Mom with hope then anger when it came out as fake.

Dad had Doug send a team up to the school to ensure the family was represented in the investigation, as well as hired a new lawyer to oversee all of it. Last update on it was they found something big to clear Jeffery’s name, so hopefully it’ll happen soon and let him either go back for next semester or let him transfer without it being a stain on his reputation.

Mom stays until the babies are in bed insisting that Eden stay off her feet, and I wrap her up, holding her all night despite my cock screaming with hunger for her dripping pussy. She needs sleep more though after waking up every few hours all week long.

I hate having to drag myself out of bed Monday morning to go to the office, but I’m meeting with Doug on the Black situation, and I press a soft kiss to Eden’s lips as I lift my sweaty body from hers. Her cheeks are rosy, and I steal one more kiss before jumping in the shower to rinse off and dress.

Eden’s still laid out on the bed when I return, her legs parted, letting me see the mess I made of her pussy. Shit I love seeing my cum drip out of her. It’s exactly where it should be, whether my babies are in her belly or not.

I grab a washcloth, warming it then move back to my girl, cleaning her up, before popping her into a nightie, seeing how heavy her eyes still are. “Go back to sleep, baby girl. Mom will be here soon to help with the babies, and you need rest.”

“Mkay, daddy,” she hums, turning onto her side, snuggling into my pillow with a smile.

If I didn’t want to get Black dealt with there’s no way I’d walk away right now.

Mom slips into the nursery as I finish getting the diapers changed, and we carry the babies downstairs feeding them before I head to the office. Doug smirks as he comes into the room and my brow lifts seeing what looks suspiciously like a hickey on his neck. Last time I checked, the man couldn’t stand women, and I lift my chin, looking pointedly at his neck before returning my attention to his face.

“The man knew how to find sweet women and fuck them over. Thankfully not all of them are completely bitter about it, and one of them…well, I won’t tell you your family’s out of their minds claiming it’s love after just a few days,” Doug says settling into a chair with a smile. “Victoria is more than happy to make Black pay for his shit. With her help, the other four women are all on board as well, just waiting to get their bit of flesh.”

“And you’re more than happy to claim Victoria as yours?” I guess making him nod. “Guess that makes us pseudo family then. Your girl’s kid would be a half-sibling to my girl’s half-siblings.”

“True, and Victoria said she’d love to meet and help with them if she’s needed. She remembers what it was like with a baby, and she can’t imagine how Eden’s coped with four of them.”
