I shake my head, heading back downstairs to see if Mom needs more help or if I can head back to the office. Either way isn’t going to bother me after spending the last hour with the babies, and when Emma starts to cry when I go to leave after Mom’s assurance that she’s good, my heart flips.

“What’s wrong, baby doll?” I tease, lifting Emma into my arms with a smile at her. “You don’t want me to go back to work?”

Her little hand grabs hold of my tie, lifting it to her mouth and I chuckle, not giving a damn about the expensive silk.

“She’s never done that with your brothers or your dad,” Mom says making me smile as I glance down at the little doll.

“You know who the best of the bunch is, don’t you, baby doll?” I tease her, rubbing her nose with mine, and her little laugh completely melts my heart.

“Well, I’ll be,” Mom muses, a huge smile on her lips, her eyes twinkling as she stares at me, and I know I need to straighten her out fast.

“Look Mom, before you try to set me up or anything with this girl,” I start, and the innocent look on her face tells me that was exactly what she was thinking. “I met someone that’s important to me. I just have to find her back.”

“What do you mean find her back?” Mom asks, her smile falling as quickly as it began.

“I was at the health club and ran across her, before I could get her name, someone interrupted us, and she left without a word. I’ve got Doug’s team working on trying to find her but so far, we haven’t had any luck. Until I do, I don’t want to talk about it,” I add, leaving out a whole lot I know, but it’s for the best right now.

“I’m sure you’ll find her and it’ll all work out,” Mom states, patting my arm with her mom-smile that makes me hopeful she’s right. “That sounds like Eden’s home,” she adds smiling more at me. “Go see if she needs any help and bring me my phone as well?”

“Okay,” I muse, taking Emma with me when she doesn’t want to go to Mom without a fuss. I smile, leaning down to whisper to her, “Didn’t want to let you go either, baby doll.”

A gasp brings my head snapping up as the scent from the bedroom ignites my senses entirely. My body wakes fully, the same way it only has while thinking of her the last two months as I spot my kitten in the doorway, her jaw dropped staring at me in shock.

“Eden?” I state, pulling another little gasp from her and I clear the space between us, drawing her up against my body, drinking in her scent. Fuck, she’s even more gorgeous than I remembered and there’s no way I could not touch her now.

She can’t hide the shiver that races through her as I do it, and I lower my face to hers, whispering a kiss to her lips, needing to know I’m not losing my mind. Her little mewl pulls me straight back to earth, and I cover her lips with a deep kiss, holding onto her neck, not about to let her run away again.

“Jude, is everything…” Mom’s voice fades out, startling Eden enough to pull away, and the color in her cheeks makes my body hungry all over again. “Well…I wasn’t expecting that. Are you alright Eden?”

“I…” Eden just looks between Mom and me, her mouth open a hint and I drop a kiss on it, smiling when she lets out that sweet little mewl once more.

“What happened to wanting to find the girl you lost, Jude?” Mom states, her tone curious but she’s smiling all the same.

“I just did,” I tell her, my eyes sliding over my girl, until they land on her slightly swollen stomach. “Looks like I found more than just her though.”

“I…” Eden says again, her cheeks flaming with color.

“I think you two need to talk, so why don’t I take this little one and get her down for a nap?” Mom suggests, taking Emma from my arms and I can’t help but smile when she lets out a cranky cry over it. “I know, but your momma needs talk to him if you want him to be your daddy.”

The word shoots straight through my heart and I glance down into Eden’s eyes, seeing hope and worry flood them simultaneously. I drop a kiss onto her forehead, then give Emma one, settling her enough she quiets in Mom’s arms.

“Looks like you’re about to be daddy to five, my boy,” Mom teases giving me a wink.

“Guess you can tell Dad he was right, because I’m not about to say no to these five babies,” I return drawing Eden into my arms fully, lifting her face towards mine.

“Six,” Eden says stopping my descending lips.

“What?” I ask, wondering if I just heard that right.

“I…it’s actually twins,” Eden states, covering her stomach with a hand, and I can’t stop the smile that hits as I drop to a knee. My face presses against her belly kissing it and not even Mom’s laughter as she walks away can stop the elation rushing through me right now.

After two and a half fucking horrendous months, I not only have my girl back in my arms, but she’s also been marked with my babies this entire time. Safer than I could imagine when my brother took care of her when she needed it most and I didn’t know. If that’s not proof enough that she’s meant to be mine, I don’t know what else possibly could.

“Jude?” she says, a hint of question in her tone and I stare up at her, smiling into those stunning dark green eyes of hers.

“Yeah, kitten. I’ll forgive you for not remembering it last time, but you better not ever forget it again, or run away from me if you know what’s good for you,” I warn, lifting her up into my arms before heading up the steps to her room—soon to be our room, understanding why it drew me in earlier now.

“Are you really here or is this just a dream?” she whispers as I shut the door behind us.
