The cobbler was assembled and settled in the oven. Ondine went to the coffeemaker and turned it on. She yawned, and Geero walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her.

“Morning,” His voice was a soft rumble in her ear.

She yawned. “Morning.”

He chuckled. “Short on sleep?”

Amadine put the coffee cartridge in the machine and turned it on again. “Mornings here are not Ondine’s friend. If she isn’t running on nerves, she likes to sleep in. She also doesn’t normally wear her hair down, but it looks so pretty.”

Geero laughed, saying, “She said I could distract my fingers with her hair as long as it kept my hands from doing anything else.” He buried his face in her hair. “Your scent is faint, but it’s here as well.”

Ondine grabbed her coffee and walked away, wearing the alpha as she headed to the other side of the counter while Amadine lost her shit with laughter.

She sat down, and Geero caressed her neck and jaw with his lips. She muttered, “This is disgusting. You are a morning person.”

He chuckled. “I am. Once we are better acquainted, I hope I can convince you that rising early has its benefits.”

She looked at him, lifted her coffee, and slurped. He grinned and kissed her forehead. He walked over to the machine and got his own coffee. Ondine perked up. He was wearing jeans and nothing more.Wow. He works out.

He turned and leaned against the wall. “It is nice to be appreciated.”

She looked at his abs, and her whimsical brain gave them all little names. “Wait. Are you flexing?”

He grinned. “Yup.”

Amadine propped her chin on her hands. “He’s peacocking for you. Aww.”

He looked over at her and cocked his head. “Yes, I am. What else can I do?”

“I will keep you posted. She can move heavy stuff on her own. Oh, she hates washing dishes. You can do that.”

He chuckled.

Ondine corrected, “You are the one who hates dishes, Amy.”

“Well, it would keep me on his side.” Amadine nodded and smiled.

Ondine smiled and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. There were still twenty minutes on the cobbler, so she went into the study and talked to the baby.

“Can she be moved?”

“Oh, yeah. We have the vehicle to do it.” Ondine smiled. “It was one of my sculptures, like Titan. It just became super handy a time or two.”

The blonde baby kicked and yawned. Geero smiled. “She’s so strong and chubby. My parents are going to go insane if you let me introduce them.”

“I need to meet her first. I have watched her all this time, but now, I want to meet her.”

He looked at her. “May I stay with you while that happens?”

She nodded. “I will need someone there to help if I get called out. I want to be there for her all the time, but I agreed to be the first responder to the Uraddans in trouble or causing it.”

“How long is that contract?”

Amadine popped her head in. “It expired three weeks ago.”

She sighed. “You have been keeping track?”

“Of course. The baby is nearly here. It’s time for you to start making a nest in your own home.”
