Pierce was alone, scrolling through his phone, and Ryder was talking to Ross and Flint in the hallway.

“Hey, where’s Tank?”

Will looked around. “Huh. I’m not sure.”

“So, was that it? We can go, right?” Pierce’s impatient voice made the group groan, but Will laughed.

“Yes, yes. That was it. One more greedy billionaire off the map. No offense, Kensington,” he said with a side-glance at the billionaire Joey had fallen in love with.

Cole held up his hands. “None taken.”

“What the news didn’t say was that the FBI has officially begun inquiring into the Secretary of the Interior and his role in the events leading up to the assassination of President Walters. We’ll work with them to make sure his motives are revealed, and we’ll follow the trail as high up as it goes.”

“That’s right!”

“You know it.”

Echoes of affirmation filled the crowded living room.

Hannah didn’t know what role she would play on this search for justice, but she wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to finally make a difference with her work. Or to do it alongside the man next to her.
