“I already know how to curb and calm you down, Molly,” I reply confidently, fighting down the smirk that wants to take over my lips.

She did do all those things, but I really didn’t care. I knew that she wanted everything to be perfect to bring our son into the world and that’s all I needed.

Her excitement.

Her dedication.

Her insanely compulsive ideas that she’d wake me up in the middle of the night about.

Shit, I’m already ready to get her pregnant again just so I can lock her down some more like a fucking caveman.

“I don’t want you to hate me,” she mutters placidly. “I love you, Kai. I don’t want to drive you crazy.”

“You don’t drive me crazy,” I retort. “I haven’t bitched once.”

“And why is that?” She leans closer as though I’m the one losing my shit. “Are you close to breaking? You can tell me. I can be more conscious—”

“I’mnotclose to breaking. I’m fine.”

“But you’ve said that before about other things,” she frets. “Like when I said I wanted to keep my Jeep.”

“I’m not going to sell your car if you want to go grocery shopping with it. I already looked up the safety measures about it. It’s fine.”

She points at me accusingly. “There you go again. It can’t be fine.”

I lift a brow. “Why can’t it be fine?”

“Because nosaneman is going to deal with this.”

Reaching up to grab her jaw, I gently drag her face closer to mine so that she can get a full grip on what I’m trying to say here. “Molly…if I say I’m fine, I’m fine. What’snotfine is you worrying and arguing against all the reasons why I would want to marry you. If you haven’t caught up yet, I’m crazy about you. I’m inlovewith you. I’d repaint the house four times over if you wanted me to if it made you happy.”

“It won’t,” she says. “Because I like the house.”

“Well, thank fuck for that then,” I say, running my thumb over her cheek. “Now, what do you say about marrying me then?”

She blinks at me, back to studying my damn face again and seeping back into her crazed thoughts. There’s been a lot of adjusting lately and, while I’m not bothered in the least about it because she’s here, I feel as though Molly has done enough fretting for the both of us.

“The offer expires in thirty seconds before I fuck it into you, Molly. Yes or no.”

“Yes,” she blurts out, then cups her palm over the top of my head. “But I’ll still take the latter part.”

I smile at her. “Too bad the doctor said we had to wait four to six weeks.”

“No,” she quickly retorts. “Google said we had to wait two weeks after delivery because it’s if the risk is higher.”

“I’m listening to the doctor.”

Molly glowers at me. “I’m not.”

“Whatever you wanna do,” I reply with a shrug. “But it’s not gonna be with my dick, sweetheart.”

“Wanna bet?” she says, running her hand down my inked forearm. “I bet I could get you to break easy enough.”

“Not if your health is in jeopardy.”

She scoffs. “I wasn’t a geriatric pregnancy, Kai. I’m fine.”

“Are you though?” I mock back with a smirk, giving her a dose of her own medicine. “I’m not sure.”
