Kaleb's eyes widened. "That soon?"

"Yes. I don't need a big wedding. I only need you."

Kaleb kissed her again, pulling her close to his chest. Two months ago, he couldn't imagine himself engaged, and soon to be married. God certainly was the God of second chances, and he'd be forever grateful for getting a second chance with Cinnamon.

Epilogue

The lowering sun glistened off the diamond on Cinnamon's ring finger. She tucked her arm through Kaleb's, not wanting to hide the jewel. She wore it with pride, excited for the wedding to arrive in less than two months.

Aside from the surprise proposal, Kaleb also planned a surprise engagement party. When they arrived back at the house, people filled the living room, offering their congratulations. They celebrated long into the night, even though all four of them rose with the sun to prepare for Red, White, and Ewe.

Now, as she strolled side by side with Kaleb through the farm, she caught a glimpse of her future. And what a future it would be. Working side by side with the family that embraced her when her own shunned her. Finally having a sister that cared for her. And a brother who didn't seek his own, but others' needs first. Scarlet and Grady were more than she ever hoped for in a family.

Add to the fact that she'd be marrying the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, and her world felt right. She couldn't imagine God blessing her any more than He already had.

"Well, soon-to-be Mrs. Linden, how do you feel the celebration is going?" Kaleb looked down at her with such love in his eyes, it stole her breath away.

"Looks like it's another success. I'm not surprised. You Lindens know how to bring this town together."

Kaleb walked a little straighter. "That means more to me than you'll ever know. The only reason we know how to do this is because of Mom and Dad."

"I know." Cinnamon gave his arm a gentle squeeze. "They taught you well. Just like we'll teach our children, and they'll teach theirs."

"You think we'll have that kind of legacy?"

"Your mom and dad do. Why can't the three of you?" Cinnamon rested her head on his arm as they strolled through the crowd.

Children gathered around the sheep pen, getting ready to take a ride on them and have a race with their friends. Parents stood proudly by, exchanging grins and taking pictures.

Down the way, under a tarp filled with tables, kids had the opportunity to make their own flags and wave them as the fireworks went off later that night.

Food vendors lined the section near the lodge. Wonderful smells of funnel cakes, hot dogs, and popcorn filled the air. Cinnamon made desserts for the cake walk, which occurred behind the booths of food.

"We've had a great turnout this year." Kaleb pulled Cinnamon behind the lodge. The distant sound of music and laughter followed them.

"It'll be even better next year."

Kaleb's eyebrows raised. "Why'sthat?"

"Because every year it gets better and better. You learn from your mistakes, and you learn what works." Cinnamon held his gaze, his eyes softening at her words. "You run a well-oiled machine. You should be proud of yourselves."

"Thanks. We are. Mostly, I can't wait to makeyoumy wife." Kaleb nuzzled her neck. "It'll be a long two months."

"I'm glad Scarlet didn't mind us having our wedding before hers." Cinnamon's flesh tingled as his breath ran over her neck, then cheek.

Kaleb's lips found hers, pressing her to him as he deepened the kiss. "Me, too. Don't know how long I can be tempted with your kisses."

Cinnamon laughed and smacked his chest. "You kissed me, remember?"

"Oh yeah. That's right." He gave her a sheepish grin, followed by a slow wink. "It won't be long, I guess."

"I think we can handle the wait." Cinnamon drew him away from the lodge as the sun started to descend. "The fireworks are going to start soon. Should we find our seats?"

"It drives me crazy I am not behind the scenes on this display." Kaleb's lips turned down. "I wish I could help my family more."

"That's why Shane took your place today." Cinnamon stopped as two kids ran past her. "Your family has it covered until you're better. You'll be up and at 'em just in time for the Harvest Hayrides."

"I know. It's hard not feeling useful."
