Now I understood even more why my dad was so hurt when his pack left. And why so many searched for their pack with hopeful desperation.

This was exactly where I was meant to be.

Collin

The omegas had passed out before we even got home so we all went back to our current place and got them settled on the sectional.

Now, as I lay in bed, Ezra and the twins already off to work, I couldn’t help but worry how things would be today.

Ellie and Bear had a great time last night. Atlas had made it smooth and gave us all a chance to handle things without the pressure.

My phone dinged and I dug it out of my pants from last night, shocked it still had charge left.

Ezra: Stop overthinking. It’s going to be fine.

I laughed softly at the other alpha giving me advice. He was known for being the grumpy diner owner, not the type to offer sound advice. But since forming a pack, we have created a sort of alliance, watching over the others and making sure our omega was cared for. Now we were in this strange level of friendship.

Collin: Me? Never.

Ezra: Don’t fucking lie. But in reality Bear fit right in last night.

Collin: I’m worried it was the booze that helped that.

Ezra: Booze may have helped but that doesn’t make us all suddenly get along

Collin: We’ll see if they ever wake up.

Ezra: Ellie isn’t an early riser, apparently Bear isn’t either. Maybe it’s an omega thing

Collin: Don’t let her hear you say that, lol. I have a feeling she’s going to bolt and force me to talk to Bear.

Ezra: Not a bad plan on her part. You need to alpha up and talk to this guy. Figure out what he expects, what you expect, set some boundaries. You’ll want that in place before the assholes return.

Collin: Do you think they were abusive? Some of the things he says makes me… concerned.

Ezra: Concerned my ass. You’re livid. I was too and he’s not my omega, just a packmate.

Collin: You may have to hold me back when they show their faces.

Ezra: Talk to Dean and Atlas, I’m just as ready for a fight. No one crosses my fucking pack.

Collin: I knew we were friends for a reason. Ellie has nothing to worry about. Our pack is strong and they’re going to learn what that means.

Ezra: I can’t wait.

My phone flashed a warning so I plugged it in and decided to get up and check on the omegas. I hadn’t heard much from the living room room but it was well after ten, so I could at least start the coffee.

Even though my footsteps were quiet they were both already up, aimlessly scrolling on their phones. Despite the distance in the room I could smell their distinct scents. Ellie and her tropical and spun-sugar scent mixed with Bear’s vanilla and mint. Both sweet but different tones that had my mouth watering.

“I’m making coffee,” I told them as I went for the kitchen.

“Thank god, I’m so damn tired,” Ellie groaned, rolling off the couch. “You coming?”

“Yeah, slowly,” Bear said in the same tired voice. “I’m not a drinker.”

“Hungover?” I asked.

“Eh,” he offered with a shrug. “Just need caffeine, I’m sure. Then I’ll get out of your hair.”
