“When was your last relationship?” she asked.
She didn’t really know why she’d asked it or what she wanted his answer to be, but she wanted to know.
Kade eyed her as he ran the towel over her skin. “It’s been a little over four years.”
Looking at him in surprise, she thought about that in her head. He hadn’t had a relationship since she was twenty. And he’d told her he’d noticed her on her twenty-first birthday. Had he not had a relationship because of her? “You haven’t had sex in four years?”
He shrugged. “Once. It was a casual hookup at a club in Seattle.”
“That’s surprising,” she murmured.
He lowered a soft nightgown over her head and helped her find the armholes. “Why’s that?”
“I don’t know. You’re hot. I’ve seen the way women look at you. And I thought men had needs.”
Kneeling in front of her, he held a pair of cotton panties that had princess crowns printed all over them by her feet. They were adorable.
“I took care of my own needs. I don’t really know about the way women look at me because I’ve only been looking at one woman for the past couple of years.”

“Have you ever been with a man at all, Remi?”

Taking a couple of steps back, he ran his fingers through his hair as he stared at her like she had three heads. “You’re a virgin?”
Nodding, she lowered her gaze from his, feeling so immature and stupid, but instantly, Kade was in front of her, cupping her chin so she was forced to look up at him.

Why was he freaking out? He looked like he was in full-blown panic mode as he started pacing in front of her. “I’m sorry,” she whispered.
He froze mid-step and looked at her. “Why are you sorry? You don’t need to be sorry. I need to be on my fucking knees begging for your forgiveness. I had no idea you hadn’t been with a man, and I’ve been rushing you into this with me. Your dad is going to hate me if he finds out.”
Taking a deep breath, she walked over to him and stopped only a few inches away. She was so small compared to him that she barely even came up to his chest so she always had to crane her neck to look up at him. “Kade, my dad loves you. He would probably be thrilled if I ended up with you instead of some guy he doesn’t know. And you’re not rushing me. I want this. I’ve always wanted this. That’s why I’ve waited…” She trailed off.
“Why have you waited?”
Fidgeting with the hem of her nightgown, she forced herself to keep her gaze on his. “Because I’ve wanted you since I was a teenager, and no other guy ever even compared to you. I wanted you to take my virginity.”
