“Is she yours?” Doc asked.
Storm was scowling. “Who the fuck do we need to kill?”
Looking at everyone, he shook his head and the room finally went quiet as they waited for him to answer all of their questions. “She’s mine. Any of you make any kind of move on her and I’ll kill you.”
All the men grinned and shook their heads. Steele chuckled. “Told you when you found your Little, you’d be just as possessive as me.”
Giving Steele the bird, Kade grinned at his friend. He hated it when the fucker was right.
“We don’t know who’s after her. Did anyone get the plate numbers on the truck that followed us?”
Talon shook his head. “There was mud rubbed over the plates so we couldn’t see anything. The only thing we could see through the tinted windows was one person driving, but we couldn’t make out anything else.”
Great. Just fucking great. They had nothing to go on.
“We need to keep the compound security tight. Right now, it seems like the person is just stalking Remi, but her ties to the club are known in Shadowridge, so we don’t know for sure they aren’t targeting her because of us. That means all the old ladies need to have someone posted on them at all times when they aren’t here at the compound,” Kade told them.
Everyone nodded their agreement.
“I’m going to assign some prospects to watch her apartment for the next few days to see if anyone shows up there, but my guess is if they were following us here, they know she’s not at home.”
Doc nodded. “Whatever you need to keep her safe, you know we have your back.”
He smiled at his friend and then at the rest of the men who were all nodding. Pulling his eyebrows together, he narrowed his eyes. “Where the fuck is Silver?”
Steele shrugged, looking just as irritated as Kade felt. “Haven’t heard from him all day. Has Remi talked to Carlee recently?”
Kade shrugged. “I think so, but I’ll ask her. I need to get back to her, but I just wanted to let you guys know what’s going on.”
Storm walked over and slapped Kade on the back. “We’re here for you, brother. You know how we all feel about keeping women and Littles safe.”
“Thanks. You guys are my family. You’re her family too.”
Talon nodded. “Damn right. She’s like a niece to me.”
Shooting his friend a look, Kade grinned. “That’s all she better be to you.”
The room erupted in shouts and laughter as some of the men called him a possessive asshole. He grinned and nodded as he flipped off the room and walked out toward his apartment. He loved those bastards in there. Even if they were all assholes sometimes.
When he walked into his apartment, it was quiet and dark except for the bathroom light, which he’d left on for her so she wouldn’t be scared. He moved as quietly as he could, stripping out of his clothes down to his underwear before he slid into bed next to her. As soon as he was settled, she scooted over until her body was plastered against his, but he could tell by her breathing she was still asleep. It was going to be a long, painful night for his cock, but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Wrapping an arm around her, he kissed the back of her head and closed his eyes.

Waking up with Remi curled up in his arms was what he imagined when he imagined heaven. She was so soft and fit perfectly against his body. He knew he was already in love with her. Maybe he had been for years, but spending the last couple of days with her sealed it in cement. “I didn’t even hear you come back in last night.”
Smiling down at her, he nodded. “You were fast asleep. Maybe the pacifier helped you get some rest.”
She looked around on the bed and then grabbed the pacifier that must have dropped out of her mouth at some point in the night. “I always wanted to try one because they seemed so soothing. I liked it more than I expected.”
