Doc let her sit on the sofa while he looked at her bruises and then examined her foot. He had her stand and walk on it to make sure she wasn’t walking with a limp, and then he listened to her organs through his stethoscope.
“She sounds good and the bruising looks like it’s healing nicely. I want to take her temperature just to make sure it’s not elevated. Sometimes a high temperature is the only symptom of infection, and since she had so much bruising it would be good just to make sure.”
Kade nodded. “Definitely. I want to make sure we check every possible thing.”
Nodding, Doc stood from the coffee table and faced Kade. “I’ll let you undress her and hold her while I do it.”
Her eyes widened as she looked at Doc and then at her Daddy. “I don’t need to be undressed to have my temperature taken.”
Kade walked over to her and sat down beside her. “Yes, you do. Little girls have their temperature taken in their bottoms. Come stand between my legs.”
