“It feels like I’m keeping you safe.”

She smirked. “Yeah, of course.”

“And besides, I don’t have to bribe you. I can just toss you over my shoulder and carry you to my car and take you home with me. I’m trying to be reasonable.”

Reasonable. Ha. That’s something he obviously has no clue of how to do.

“You’re insufferable, Caleb.”

“Tell me something I don’t know already. But tell it to me when you get to my condo.”

She rolled her eyes and stalked into the building. Caleb followed her and stood outside her room as she gathered her belongings. She checked out and went to her car. Annoyed that Caleb was also following her to her car, she turned to him.

“I don’t need a babysitter. I’m not afraid of that guy coming back tonight. I’ll be safe at my mother’s.”

“You’ll be safer with me.”

“But…”

He massaged his temple. “Tiera, I’m tired. I’ve almost gone crazy thinking I was going to lose you. I’ve chased a bastard across a parking lot. I’ve been tased by you. I’m ready to go home. Get in the damn car and follow me.”

When she didn’t move, he took out his cell phone. “Let me just give Mama Tammy a quick call and let her know someone followed you from work to your hotel.”

“Okay. Damn,” she pouted.

She got into her car and slammed the door. She was too stressed to argue with Caleb. Though she didn’t want to go to his condo, she had to admit she was a bit afraid to be alone at her mother’s place.

As they rode through the city, she thought about what he’d said. I’ve almost gone crazy thinking I was going to lose you. She tried not to overthink it. But he had said what he said. And it was resonating with her, reviving things she’d buried. She’d gone down that road with him before. It led to a dead end. Her Caleb-free world was good. She didn’t need his double-entendres and heartbreak.

Once she arrived at his condo, she went to his guestroom and refortified the wall around her heart. Her attitude, also known as her suit of armor, was in place. She was ready for war until he emerged from his bedroom fresh out of the shower, wearing nothing but a towel. Yeah, that pretty much unfortified everything for her.

He ran his hand through his damp, dusty brown hair. The action caused his arm and chest muscles to flex. Water beaded his tanned skin. She followed a particular drop of water dripping from his chin to his chest. What she wouldn’t give to be that drop of water.

Caleb was ripped and covered in a few more tattoos than she remembered. But the most prominent thing she noticed was his big and proud erection. She had to stop her lady parts from walking over and getting reacquainted with that big thing.

“I’m about to get dressed for bed. I just wanted to let you know that if you want anything to eat, you can order it from our café downstairs.”

She couldn’t think of ordering food with that big thing poking through his towel, prodding at her senses. She wanted to tell him okay about the food, but her mouth wouldn’t work, so she nodded. He headed to his bedroom. She stared at his back as he walked away. Her mind replayed him coming into the guestroom, wearing only a towel.

Whew. She couldn’t do this. She had to get ready for bed. The faster the next few weeks passed, the faster she could get away from him.

Tiera stood and gathered what she needed to shower. She went into the guestroom bathroom and undressed. She turned on the water spray and stepped into the shower. Steaming hot water cascaded over her body.

Caleb hadn’t even attempted to hide that monster. And she couldn’t get it out of her head. She imagined herself on her knees before him as his cum spurted onto her face from his big and beautiful dick. Just the thought of it was good material for her latest erotic novel.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Caleb was knocking on the bedroom door. Panicking, she wondered if he could hear her thoughts as she stepped out of the shower and quickly wrapped in a towel.

“Yes,” she answered without opening the door.

“Did you order food?” he asked.

“No.”

“I’m going to run out to get something for us to eat.”

She took a deep breath and released it slowly. “Okay.”
