“I don’t need a babysitter. I’m not afraid of that guy coming back tonight. I’ll be safe at my mother’s.”
“You’ll be safer with me.”

He massaged his temple. “Tiera, I’m tired. I’ve almost gone crazy thinking I was going to lose you. I’ve chased a bastard across a parking lot. I’ve been tased by you. I’m ready to go home. Get in the damn car and follow me.”
When she didn’t move, he took out his cell phone. “Let me just give Mama Tammy a quick call and let her know someone followed you from work to your hotel.”
