“You do. You’ve been teasing me for so long, little one. In those pigtails. In your kitten heels.”

How long had he been watching me? He reached for my breast and kneaded my flesh. “Lean back and take your lord like a good girl.”

He shoved me until my back hit the mattress. I stared up at the ceiling as the sound of his belt unbuckling invaded my ears. I couldn’t leave. If I disobeyed an order from the king, he could imprison me or, worse, have me killed for treason.

He pressed against my entrance. His hot dick was met with my dry skin. “Not wet for me? I suppose the blood will make you slick.”

He slammed into me, and I let out a hard sob. The burning pain made my vision spot for a minute, and I turned my head to avoid seeing his pleasure-stricken face.

My eyes landed on that damn lamp, casting light and shadows around the room, bringing luminance to the worst day of my life.

He slid out and slammed into me once more, and rage like a storm burned through my veins.

I refused to lie here submissively and accept my fate.

I’d rather die than live a loveless lifetime of abuse.

I sat up in an instant, knocking him off of me with a hard shove. He fell back onto the ground and cursed. “You fucking bitch!”

He looked so weak, lying on the ground with his mediocre dick hanging out. Something snapped within me, and I reached for the lamp, my fingers gripping it and yanking it off the nightstand.

It was heavy and awkward to hold, but I still wrapped both hands around the thick phallic-shaped base, and I jumped on top of Lord Geralt. His eyes snapped open in surprise, and he jerked upward, his cock pressing against my thigh as I raised the lamp above my head and slammed it down on his skull. A loud scream tore out of my chest as the crunch of bone hit my ears. Blood from his mouth splattered across my nightgown.

I lifted the heavy lamp and hit him again.

And then again.

Blood poured from his body. His screams were cut off by the brutality of my hits. My war cry filled the room, and I hit him again.

I hit him even when his body was still.

I hit him when his skull was concave, brain matter and cartilage poking out through the cuts on his face.

I hit him until he was nothing more than a battered echo, a slayed demon.

I beat him until he was dead.

Chapter Five

I sobbed over him, and a gasp made me snap my attention back to the tunnel. Leo stood there, his mouth gaping open as he took in the carnage.

“Christine,” he whispered while taking a cautious step toward me. “What happened?”

I threw myself off of Lord Geralt and crawled to a corner of the room, pulling my knees to my chest as I rocked and cried. Crimson death coated my skin, and the steady stream of salty tears mixed with the brutality of my kill.

“The king wanted us to marry,” I choked out while Leo stalked closer. “Lord Geralt took me here. He…he was inside me.” I tapped my chest. A nasty sensation traveled up my throat, bile burning me from the inside out as I rocked in place.

“Christine,” Leo choked out. He kneeled before me and reached for my knee, but I flinched away from him.

“They’re going to lock me up. They’ll kill me, Leo,” I said while looking him in the eye. I felt my life slipping away, but I refused to regret what I’d done. I’d rather be dead than spend a single day with him. “I’m dead. Good as dead. They’ll behead me. A lord, Leo. I killed a lord.”

“No,” Leo grunted. “That’s not going to happen. The king just left for Redview. Probably in his armored car as we speak.”

I let out a bitter laugh. “And? Word will still get out, Leo. I killed him. People will notice. You need to get out of here. They’ll make you an accomplice.”

Leo shook his head, determination in his gaze. “Do you trust me?”

I pressed my forehead to my knees and sucked in a deep breath, the smell of rust-laced blood invading my nose. “Yes,” I croaked.
