Make sure to limp when you show up!

Roni

Walkingwith a hitch in my step would be happening whether I wanted it to or not. Tugging on my jeans commando didn’t help, no matter how careful I was.

No one witnessed my tentative return home or how I had to throw my jeans into the wash because I’d leaked the whole way.

I took another shower and tried to wash more thoroughly. The water helped soothe the sore parts, and I felt a little more human when I dressed and left the house again.

However, walking to the training grounds proved that I’d worked out more than my fun zone. My legs ached by the time I saw the volunteers moving in the distance.

I spotted Molev working with a group of women to the side and wondered if they had any idea what they were actually signing up for. Probably not. I had thought I’d known, but I hadn’t. Not really. Last night had opened my eyes, though.

If Molev’s brothers were anything like him, each female would find herself entangled with a fey. And bed sheets. And copious amounts of baby batter.

My core clenched at the thought, and I winced even as I felt a renewed spark of interest. But I was a twisted individual like that.

I made it a few more yards before Molev’s head snapped in my direction.

“It’s not okay to use a girl like you did and just leave her to wake up alone,” I said softly, knowing he would hear me. “It makes her feel abandoned.”

He left the group and jogged over.

“I did not abandon you. Did you not see Roni’s note?” he asked.

“Oh, I saw it,” I said. “Once I worked up the courage to leave the bedroom.”

He blinked at me.

“It hurt to move,” I explained.

He frowned.

“It kind of feels like my insides were rearranged. And I’m still dripping,” I said.

The tips of his ears turned dark grey.

“Forgive me. You were making happy sounds. I thought I was watching closely for signs of discomfort, but I may have let my own pleasure blind me.”

He closed the distance between us and gently cupped my neck where I knew I was lightly bruised.

“I will take more care tonight,” he said.

“Tonight? You’re going to kill me.”

He jerked like he’d been shot.

“Everything okay over there?” Roni called.

“Everything is fine,” Molev called back without looking at her.

He claimed my lips in an extremely gentle kiss then pressed his forehead to mine.

“You were sore when you first allowed me to taste you. The tenderness you feel today will pass, too. I will not forget myself tonight. I swear it. But I will have you again.”

CHAPTERSEVEN

My thoughts raced.Regardless of his reassurances, my fear of eventual pregnancy remained. Yet, as I stared up at Molev’s growing frown, I had to also acknowledge I couldn’t take back what we’d done. He’d proven last night just how much he wanted me, and my insides clenched at the memory of the way he’d slowly dominated me.
