“You feel that, Katherine? We were made for each other.” Oh my, do I feel that! It’s incredible; our bodies combined as one. Leo doesn’t hold back; I didn’t think he could go much deeper, but with each thrust, he does, and each time I’m closer and closer to orgasm number three. How does he do it?

“Come with me, Katherine!” His voice is raspy. He’s ready. I let go. Feeling myself clench around him, we both explode together. The noises he makes and the way I feel make me want to cry. My body slumps down onto the bed in an emotional wreck. Leo does the same, his body covering mine.

“You were amazing.” His whisper makes me smile. Not that I did much to contribute, but I take the compliment anyway. After a few minutes of him smelling my hair and nibbling my ear, he removes himself and goes to the bathroom. I feel cold and empty in his absence, but I am too exhausted to move. A few moments later, I’m being lifted off the bed and placed into a warm bubble bath. Leo gets in, too, and places me on his lap.He foams a sponge up and gently washes my body. I close my eyes as his hands massage my shoulders. I’m in heaven. Leo helps me out of the bath and wraps me in a big fluffy towel. We get into bed, and I settle on my side with my snuggly.

“No, you sleep with me.” He wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me in to spoon position with him behind me. It feels good, safe. I don’t think I’ve ever been near anyone so dangerous, yet I feel the safest I ever have. Exhausted, I’m soon asleep. When I wake, the bed is empty. There’s a text from Leo on my phone saying he will be back for lunch. Breakfast is laid out for me when I enter the kitchen.

“I hope you don’t mind; I know you don’t like to eat alone in the dining room, so as Mr. Guerra is out, I thought you may like to eat in here?” Alga looks worried, as if she may have done something wrong. Quickly I put her at ease.

“Thank you, Alga; yes, I would much prefer to eat in here with you both.” Sergio is also in the kitchen preparing something delicious as usual.

“There’s an awful lot. Will you both join me?” the pair look at me.

“We’ve already eaten but thank you for your kind offer.” Choosing the avocado and the smoked salmon, I make a bagel while chatting to the pair as they work. They tell me about their daughter, who is about my age; she has just qualified as a doctor. They are extremely proud, and listening to them talk about her is lovely. She has her graduation ceremony at the weekend; they’re both extremely excited to see her with her cap and gown. Alga is worried they will show her up In front of her peers, but I assure them they definitely won’t. I imagine they’ve worked very hard to get her to where she is. It makes me think of my parents, and I’m filled with homesickness.

The front door opens and closes, bringing me out of my thoughts. I hear the click of high heels on the marble floors. Interested to see who our visitor is, I go into the hallway and find Mia looking around.

“Hello, can I help you?” Mia jumps, surprised to see me.

“I’m looking for Marco, not that it’s any of your business.” I really don’t like this woman.

“I’m sorry I vaguely remember meeting you before, but I have forgotten your name?” I haven’t.

“It’s Mia.” She reminds me displeased.

“Mia, ahh, yes. Do you always let yourself into other people's homes without knocking?” I fold my arms across my chest. She scowls back at me.

“I’m always welcome here; I’m practically family.”

“Well, as I live here now, I would greatly appreciate it if you would knock in the future.”

“Ha, I don’t think that is necessary; I think you are forgetting your place.” My blood boils.

“No, I think you are forgetting yours, Mia. I am Mrs. Guerra to be, and I am sure my fiancé, Mr. Guerra, would agree that we wouldn’t want just anyone walking into our home where we may be in situations that we don’t want people to see. Don’t you understand?” She’s furious. Her left eye starts to twitch. I have to contain my laugh. I can hear sniggers coming from the kitchen. No doubt Alga and Sergio are listening.

“I will speak to Leo about you.” She spits.

“Please be my guest but remember to knock when you do,” I swear I see steam coming out of her nose. Before she can say anything in return, Marco appears from Leo’s office.

“Ladies.”

“Chi crede di essere?”Who does she think she is?Mia mutters to Marco. Marco turns to me and smirks.

“A Guerra.” He winks and then escorts Mia out. Ha, silly cow.

Chapter 16

Katie

“Marco, would you be able to drive me into town? I need to pick up a few things.”

He nods and grabs his keys. Looks like we are going now. I follow quickly before he changes his mind. The last time we were here, I spotted a little beauty shop. It’s not like the wholesalers we have at home, but I’m sure I’ll be able to get what I need. After speaking to Alga this morning, I want to make her feel better about attending her daughter's graduation. I think a hair makeover will really make her feel better about herself. I’m in my element, walking around the shop, picking out new brushes, clips, and scissors. It’s not the standard I use at home, but they’ll do the job. Only thinking I was going on holiday, I didn’t think to bring my hairdressing kit, just my electricals and a few bits I need to do my own hair. Marco follows me around, groaning as I pick up every item for a good look. I get what I need for Alga’s hair as well as some new bits for me. My basket is pretty full when I get to the counter.

“No charge.” Says the lady looking directly at Marco.

“What, no, please, these are for me.” I get everything out of the basket and hold out my bank card.

“No charge, please.” I look from Marco to this woman feeling extremely uncomfortable.
