I do. And I don’t need the memory. Nope. No memories of how sexy Miller going commando is. I never thought a man not wearing underwear would be my thing but when it comes to Miller, pretty much everything he does is sexy. Which is freaking annoying.

But I wasn’t lying when I said I don’t do commitment. I don’t. One and done is fine with me. Because I know better than to put my faith in a man. Lying scoundrels. The lot of them.

“Poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, stinging nettle…”

“What is she doing?” Elder asks Miller.

“She’s naming all of the plants she plans to poison you with.”

“Have you ever rolled in a field of stinging nettle?” I ask the group.

Elder blanches. “I need to get to the brewery.”

“I’m helping Moon at the diner,” Riley says.

Brody stares at his retreating brothers. “I’ll …” He walks off.

“Sorry about them,” Miller says.

I don’t care about them. I care about him. No, not care, careabout him. I care why he’s here. Nothing more. No caring going on here.

“Why are you here? What’s with the picnic tables? I don’t have time for this today.”

He grins. “I’m here to help.”

“Help?”

“I’m your assistant. Use me however you wish.” He waggles his eyebrows.

“I don’t have time for your shenanigans. I need to get ready for my classes. Assuming anyone will show.” I glance around Main Street, which is currently empty.

“They’ll come. It’s too early for tourists.”

I check my watch. It’s barely eight in the morning. He’s right. In my experience with Winter Falls’ festivals, most tourists don’t arrive until after ten. But I still have a ton of things I need to set up before they arrive.

“The picnic tables are for you to use for your classes,” Miller says and I remember he’s still here.

How could I ever forget he’s standing in front of me? The man demands my attention the second he’s in my orbit.

“I was planning on dragging one of my prep tables outside,” I say.

He chuckles. “I think the words you meant to say are thank you, Miller.”

Shit. He’s right. I’m an ungrateful cow.

“Thank you. And can you thank your brothers for me?”

“No reason to thank those numbskulls,” he grumbles. “Now, what next?”

“I don’t need your help,” I lie. I need someone’s help. But I wish it wasn’t his.

Liar. You want to be around Miller all the time. You want to jump in his arms and thank him with a big, sloppy kiss. Whoa. Where are all these crazy thoughts coming from? Not from me.

He throws an arm around my shoulders and leads me inside the shop. “Whether you need me or not.” He gazes pointedly at the boxes and boxes of supplies crowding the floor. “I’m here.”

I lean into his embrace before I remember – he wants a commitment and I don’t do commitment. He’s not merely here to help. He’s here to back me into a corner I don’t ever plan to spend any time in.

I duck under his arm and plant my fists on my hips. “Are you going to keep showing up until I give in and date you?”
