Please tell me you’re not wearing granny pants with flowers on them. ~ Text from Soleil to Eden

“Do I look okay for a date?” I ask Harmony via FaceTime.

“You look more than okay. You’ll be lucky if Miller lets you out of your house.” She waggles her eyebrows.

“Good.” That’s the plan. I’m not ready to go on a date with him.

I must have been in some kind of sex fever dream when I agreed to give Miller a chance. What was I thinking? All of the men in my life thus far have hurt me. Why would Miller be any different?

“Phwwwwwhhht phwoooooh,” Elder whistles as his face pops up behind Harmony. “Miller’s going to bust a nut when he sees you in that dress.”

“Hey, Elder.” I wave. “What are you and Harmony up to today?”

His face disappears and Harmony returns. “Don’t you worry about what I’m doing with myfriend. You worry about your date.”

The doorbell rings before I have a chance to quiz her on her definition of friend.

“Have fun!” She rings off.

I check my watch. Two o’clock. Miller’s right on time. Welp. Time to initiate my ‘let him rip your clothes off before you can get out the door’ plan.

I open the door and stretch my arm above me before leaning against it. I miscalculate the distance and end up leaning against thin air. I lose my balance and barely manage to catch the door handle before I fall to the floor. Shit. I should have practiced this move.

“Hi,” I greet. My voice sounds breathy from nearly falling on my ass. So much for seducing Miller before we can get out the door.

“Hi, flower girl.” Miller’s gaze rakes up and down my body and his nostrils flare. The seduction is back on.

I rub my foot against my opposite calf. “What do you think of my outfit?”

“I think you’re sexy as hell. I also think you’re going to be uncomfortable.”

My brow wrinkles. “Uncomfortable?”

He frowns at my shoes. “Can you even walk in those things?”

I kick out my foot to showcase my heels. “You don’t like my shoes?”

He steps closer. “I more than like your shoes. I can’t wait for you to wear those shoes and nothing else while we’re in bed and I’m exploring every inch of you.” I do a full body shiver at the image his words create.

I clutch his t-shirt and pull him near. “Yes. I approve of this plan.”

“Of course, you do.” He chuckles. “It was your plan all along.”

I narrow my eyes on him before I remember I need to appear innocent. I flutter my eyelashes. “What do you mean?”

“You know what I mean,” he grumbles.

Maybe it makes me a weirdo but I love it when he grumbles. His deep growly voice makes my body tingle in anticipation.

He grasps my waist and heat sears through me. I expect him to throw me over his shoulder but he turns me around and pats my bottom instead.

“Go change.”

What? He wants me to change? This scene is not going my way, but I’m not giving up. I glance over my shoulder and bat my eyelashes at him. “You want to help me?”

He groans and rubs a hand over his face. “Put another outfit on before I change my mind.”

“What do I have to do to get you to change your mind?”
