“How would you like to go home with me, Aurora?”

The sound of my name on his lips grates on my nerves. I only like it when Seth uses it.

Seth...

His face bursts into my mind’s eye, reminding me that this is not real. While I’m becoming aware that I’m trapped in a nightmare, there’s nothing I can do to escape it.

The faceless man before me snakes his arm around my waist and brings his face against my shoulder. “You’re smelling incredibly good today,” he croons. “Tell me, Aurora. Are you close to going into heat?”

An icy chill slithers down my spine.

I struggle to wake up but my eyes refuse to open, keeping me trapped in the nightmare.

“I can’t wait for you to go into heat so that I can see you beg and plead for my cock,” the faceless alpha whispers, his fingers wrapping around my throat. Tightening his hold, he leans down to kiss me.

I’m choking and suffocating from the kiss and his constricting fingers around my neck. He laughs at my pain, the sound ringing in my ears until I can’t bear it anymore.

“Your skin is so flawless, Aurora,” he croons. “I can’t wait to mark it with my bites.”

“No!” I shout. “Only my mates can bite me!”

“I’ll be your mate and master.”

The fear of punishment wanes as a new fear arises within me. Seth, Oliver, and Simon’s faces flash before my eyes, reminding me who I truly belong to.

I scream their names and fight against the alpha. Being blindfolded makes it difficult to strike at him but I don’t care anymore.

There’s no way I’ll let this vicious alpha take me. He can kill me if he wants but I won’t let him touch me anymore.

My lungs seem to be collapsing, no longer supplying me with air as I choke and suffocate. I feel like I’m close to death and the thought is oddly satisfying.

The heavy black veil over my eyes intensifies, falling over my senses and numbing me to everything happening around me. Perhaps, the alpha is intent on choking me to death.

A part of me knows it’s all a dream but I still can’t seem to wake up from it.

Am I going to die in my sleep? Won’t Seth, Oliver, and Simon come to rescue me this one last time?

The street outside the cottage is quiet and deserted at this late hour of the night. Oliver brings the car to a stop and glances at me. “What time is it?”

“It’s past eleven already,” I say, yawning loudly.

“Hey, wait up!” he calls as I open the door to my side and climb out.

Stretching my arms, I bend sideways.

“Don’t you dare be lazy,” Oliver scolds, coming to my side. “Help me grab everything from the back before going inside.”

“Fine,” I say, failing to suppress another yawn.

Together, we bring out the boxes that carry Rory’s clothes, painting stuff, and cushions. None of them are heavy but they’re all bulky.

“It’ll be quicker if we stack them up,” I say, looking at the mountain of boxes before us.

“Here, take these,” says Oliver, thrusting the first box in my arms.
